I must be the only person who likes this movie, it sure isn't 'Avatar', but its not 'Lost in Translation' either. The movie is about this guy (Adam Sandler) who had a bad experience with his fiance and decided to use his wedding band to get one-night stands, that is until he meets the girl of his dreams and decides to try and make a true relationship with her. But she finds the wedding band and he has to form a web of lies to keep her from breaking up with him. Sorry if I said too much, but it WAS a good movie, and the only reason people do not like this movie is because they walk into it with very high expectations after seeing Grown-ups, but I read all of the reviews about how bad it was and decided to watch it anyway, because at North Oaks its only a dollar fifty, and so I went into it with LOW expectations. But because of those low expectations I expected a terrible movie and instead I was pleasantly surprised with a GREAT movie, and could not understand why people were upset with it. Then I realized that if you had these high expectations, then you will not like it, if you have low ones, then like me, you just might. The only reason I give it FOUR stars is because Adam Sandler's role is the same in this movie as in all of the other ones he has made, though that's not a big deal. I recommend this movie... for those who do not have high expectations.
To my defense I was dragged to this movie by my friend and I regret that I gave in. It is another Adam Sandler’s movie full of nut kicking, stupid jokes, even stupider dialogue and ridiculous storyline. I hated every minute of this movie and I pray to God it is the last Adamd Sandler’s movie. However, I know it is not the last one because for some unknown reason Americans love his movies. And why in the Jeniffer Aniston keeps agreeing to be in these terrible films? I know that they pay her a lot but doesn’t she have enough money already? She is not the greatest actress but she can do better than this. Adam Sandler played the same character as he always does, it is ridiculous that he gets paid for being his stupid self. Overall, I urge you to stay home and not support this horrible movie by paying for a ticket.
I actually liked this comedy and I did not expect to like it as much as I did. I mean it was not that good, but it definitely made me laugh couple of times and I liked the storyline and I did like watching that beautiful scenery of Hawaii. Jeniffer Aniston can act and made the movie that much better, I mean she definitely could be in better movies than this one but I guess Aniston is making money and not caring much about her reputation as a serious actress. Adam Sandler is silly and funny as usual and he is always playing the same character so no surprises there. It is sort of funny that both hot girls end up wanting to be with him, but it is no surprise that Adam Sandler would want that. Overall, if you like Adam Sandler movies then you will enjoy this film, if you are not a fan then save your money.
Well it is just another one of Adam Sandler movies with bathroom jokes and kicks to the groin. I have to admit that all of that stuff was kept to a minimal and the movie was actually somewhat enjoyable and even funny sometimes. I do not understand why Jeniffer Aniston keeps making these silly romantic comedies that are predictable and do not push her at all. She has so much potential and I know that Aniston is a good actress, but she keeps on waisting her talent on completely pointless and silly movies. Anyhow, the movie was alright and I did laugh couple of times. It was nice to see Hawaii and it made me want to go to a vacation. Overall, I think that the movie was not worth my money and i wish I have rented it. Therefore, I recommend saving your money and enjoying this mediocre comedy at the comfort of your house.
Another Adam Sandler movie, another day. It seems that Adam Sandler just doesn’t have enough money, or he actually thinks these movies he has been making are good. I am not quite sure which one it is but I hope it is not the latter. Sandler stars in this comedy with Jennifer Aniston and newcomer Brooklyn Decker. In my opinion, this was not a great movie. Sure, Sandler is funny is pretty much every movie he is in but that doesn’t make the entire movie funny. I didn’t believe the chemistry between Sandler’s character and Aniston’s character, which left me feeling awkward in the theater. Sandler definitely plays himself in this film, the same character he’s been playing for years now. Overall, not a great movie but it does have its high points.
Just Go With It is the new comedy starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. Sandler’s character tries to get women by pretending he is in a bad marriage, which he enlists his friend, Aniston’s character to help with. Jennifer Aniston’s character consistently reminded me of Rachel from Friends years ago. I guess that is just her acting persona. Just Go With It was pretty bad and seemed like Sandler was asking movie goers to Just Go With It and see his movie. The biggest problem with this film is that the story just didn’t make sense. How would pretending you are married help get women? In my experience, women are not interested in men who are married. The movie did have its funny moments and Brooklyn Decker is absolutely beautiful, but overall the movie fell short. I did really enjoy Aniston’s role in this film though.
I can't say I blame Adam Sandler. I'm part of the cult of Billy Madison. But that movie came out 16 years ago, and other than a few detours, Sandler has stuck to that road since, to diminishing returns. Here he goes again with Just Go With It, another boilerplate Sandler "comedy" that proves you can only tell the same jokes so many times before it stops being funny.
Sandler plays, Danny, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon (?) who was dumped at the altar 20 years ago, but still wears the ring. This has helped him meet lots of ladies for one night stands. He finally puts the ring away when he meets the girl of his dreams, but she finds it, and thinks he's actually married. He claims to be in the process of getting a divorce, and enlists the help of his single mother of two assistant, played by Jennifer Aniston, to play his soon to be ex-wife. They all jet off to Hawaii, with Danny's best friend playing Aniston's fiancee, and, whew, there's a lot going on here. Nicole Kidman even shows up as Aniston's rival.
As with most other Sandler films, no matter what job or station in life his characters inhabit, they are always Sandler. And no matter who surrounds him, they all seem to find their way down to his level. He's a teenage boy, and he inhabits a world where his crude behavior is not only tolerated, but loveable. It's hard to critique things like story, dialogue, direction and acting when the entire premise is so unbelievable. Sandler can pretty much do anything he wants at this point and people will come watch it. That doesn't mean I have to be one of them, or that you should be either.
