Journey 2: The Mysterious Island 3D Movie Reviews
User reviews on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island 3D
I am the mother of a teenager, so I am tired of kiddie movies. I am also not a sci-fi fan. BUT this movie was great entertainment to me. It has action, comedic moments, and the best 3D effects I have seen in a movie. The actors all did a great job. The girl--I think she was Hutchinson--was not so good.
I did not like this film and I definitely do not recommend seeing it in the theaters that is if you are an adul. I saw the film with my friend’s children and even they did not like it too much. We saw the film in 3D and this film definitely benefits from it but it does not erase the fact that the film itself lacks imagination. I was really excited to see this film because i have read Verne’s book and remember it pretty well, i also remember how it made me feel and this film was a disgrace compared to the book. The film is full of ridiculous special effects and they do not make up for the fact that that he film lacks heart and sincerity. However, young children will like it because it is full of colorful visuals and silly ideas.
I saw the film with my little nephew and we had an alright time. I thought the film looked pretty good in 3D and it definitely enhanced the experience. As for the movie itself, it was kind of boring and lacked laughs and energy and i also found most of the characters annoying and dumbed down. I have read Verne and remember his books as a journey to something magical and wonderful and this film does not have any of those effects. One definitely has to have low expectations before seeing this film and then it begs a question: Why see a film that is not worth your money and your time? Overall, I guess the film looks good but it is really not worth the price of the movie ticket.
