This was easily one of the worst movies ive seen in the last 10yrs...not sure how it ended because my girlfriend and I left about 3/4 the way through the movie...we werent the only people to leave..I was gonna ask for my money back .. the theater staff had to know how much it sucked they could have advised me.

We looked at eachother literally 3minutes into the movie and both said this is gonna suck and we were right..

dont pay anything to see it...youll probably know someone dumb enough to rent it ...borrow it from them.

I loved this movie! And am SO UPSET that it's already gone and some critiques gave it a bad review. Can't imagine what their problem was - it had a good storyline, great special effects, believable characters/actors. I wanted to see it again in 3D and it's already gone? Unbelievable. very disappointing that the theaters aren't showing it now after only a couple of weeks.

Fun movie to watch. Not all about special effects. The casting was great, I believed it. Had good acting, good story line. They did are good job explaining the plot at the beginning of the show. The movie was over 2 hours long, but I did not get bored. I was engaged the whole time.

With as good as Brad Bird's live action debut with the latest Mission Impossible movie was, I had the same hopes for Andrew Stanton's John Carter. After all, this was the guy that directed Finding Nemo and Wall-E, the latter probably one of the most live action looking cartoons ever. Unfortunately, unlike Mission Impossible, which was able to keep its action sequences and story tight, John Carter is a big mess, filled with too much story, flat characterization, and way too much CGI. I'm being a little harsh, considering that Bird had the benefit of coming into an established franchise, while Stanton was making it harder on himself trying to bring this story to the screen, a story many filmmakers have tried and failed to tackle. So just for trying, Stanton should get some points. The original Edgar Rice Burrough's story has influenced a lot of other movies, so if this film seems derivative, that's why. John Carter is a Civil War vet who suddenly finds himself in the midst of a different kind of civil war on the planet Mars. There are strange creatures, flying ships, and alien love interests who kick butt. Sound like Avatar? It's not Stanton's fault that James Cameron based a lot of that film on this story, but John Carter definitely suffers from the comparison. Unlike Avatar, which had almost too simple a story, John Carter has too much. There's too much exposition, and that bogs down the flow. The battles, which can be exciting, were just a little too generated for me. While there is some humor and wit to the movie, there's just not enough. Maybe Stanton will do better with his next live action film...or maybe he'll go back to doing what he does best.

This is a sci-fi action film about a Civil War vet who is transplanted to Mars where he has to save a princess, the film is directed by Andrew Stanton and stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe. I hate Disney movies so it is hard for me to be biased but I will try my best. The problem is that all of Disney films are about special effects and visuals and they usually lack purpose and character development and this film is no different. It is hard to care what is happening because the characters are not developed and the film moves from one scene to another without any purpose or idea. The film is way too long and way too silly for my taste and I was falling asleep throughout it. Overall, if you like mindless entertainment then I guess this film is perfect for you.

I am almost embaressed to say that I had a good time watching this film but I did and I think if you want to see an action/adventure film this would be a good choice. I think the movie was interesting, it had a great cast and of course it looked amazing. I was entertained the whole time and the film is not short. The adventure felt real and mystical all in the same time and I think that Taylor Kitsch did a great job wit his character and t also helps that he looks really good. The film was also emotionally engaging and I think that the director did an amazing job putting all the elements together, I was impressed and entertained.
