Jersey Boys Movie Reviews
User reviews on Jersey Boys
Grew up in Bloomfield and Belleville NJ, so my review is certainly jaded. The acting and photography is wonderful. Yes, guys from my youth talked like they do in this movie. If you enjoy senseless violence,
blood, and hatred, this movie is not for you. But, if you enjoyed growing up in the simple times of the 50's & 60's, you'll have a good time.
Also, Clint Eastwood directed, so,.... what's not to like?
Savor the memories of your youth, and enjoy Jersey Boys.
I give it 2 1/2 stars. Not great, but not horrible. An average movie. This would be an okay movie to watch on TV, but not at the theater. I didn't know anything about the history of the Jersey Boys (i.e., the play or the history of Frankie Valli), so I reluctantly agreed to see it. Sometimes you can surprise yourself when you do this. Any story can be exciting if told right. This story just didn't make it. There were no moments when you went, "Wow, I never knew that" or "Oh my gosh, that was amazing." Just an average movie. Save your money.
I am not a fan of musicals but my friend is way into the musical theater and she dragged me to see this film. I have seen Jersey Boys in the theater and it was a great experience so I was kind of sceptical about this film because I knew that there was no way that the film can be better than the play. Well, it was not as bad as I thought it will be. The film had some great musical moments but it wasn’t as energetic or inventive as the play. I found the film to be a tad strange but that can be expected when the director is Clint Eastwood. I did find the film to be quite entertaining and fun to watch and if you have not seen the play, I recommend seeing this film on the big screen, it is cheaper and quite fun as well.
I love musicals, I love everything about the Jersey Boys and I have seen the play multiple times. I was quite excited to see this film and I dragged my boyfriend to see it with me. I have to say that I was not impressed with this film and i do not think it is worth seeing it in the theaters. Clint Eastwood is the director of this film and in my opinion he has failed miserably, I am not sure what happened there. There is no joy or liveliness in this film and that is what Jersey Boys is all about. Sure there were some great and entertaining moments and the acting was pretty great, however I was not impressed overall. I am not even sure why it was made into a movie, because there was nothing original about the film, so it’s kind of pointless.
