Get over yourselves, christianity is a lie invented to control the gullible masses through fear, nothing more.
Ricky Gervais is spot on, a genius... end of story.
It may not be the greatest film in the history of film making but it makes out christianity to be exactly as ridiculous as it is.

This was by far the worst movie of the year. I felt like I was robbed. I don't even know how these directors could sleep at night by charging people money to see this. This movie was so bad that half the people fell asleep (there were only a handful that were gullible enough to see it) and the other half left. There was nothing funny about this movie unless your the one charging people for watching it.

Unfortunately the movie review published with the movie doesn't tell the whole truth -- but then again it is a movie about lying. The main emphasis of the movie is to mock religious beliefs. I was disappointed because "The Office" is one of my all time favorite TV shows and high hopes for the makers of this movie. It wasn't until after I had the misfortune of wacting this dribble that I learned Ricky Gervais is a "devout" atheist. Why can't people like him just make a movie everybody can enjoy without runining it with their policitcal views.

Wow, what a movie! It was meant to be a comedy, some sort of alternate reality. It was just plain backwards.

At the start, nobody's happy b/c everyone is telling the truth. Then, everyone is happy b/c someone is now lying. The moral, you have to lie in order to be happy. Not a good instruction for the kids.

Once the lying starts taking place, it immediately moves into a religious background where the Ten Commandments is the equivelant value of a pair of pizza boxes. It also identifies many loopholes in the Christian Faith in the form of mockery and insult. In the end it was clear what the objective of the whole movie was..that there is no such thing as God.

You don't walk away from this movie with a very good feeling about it, at least, I didn't.

What the???? This movie was a waste of time and money. First of all the story had no consistency, second I was highly offended at the mockery of Christianity, and third it was dumb. Don't bother with this one. TERRIBLE!!!!! HORRIBLE!!! OFFENSIVE!!!

From the trailers, it looked like this movie would be funny. Unfortunately, my husband and I walked away highly disappointed! It is a very sad, disturbing movie. In addition, it mocks Christianity very heavily. In my opinion, it's not even a "renter" movie!

This movie had great potential to make an impact on genuine human kindness and spirituality. Instead, it "messed the bed" by not really standing for anything. There were a few funny scenes but the movie basically used religion as a vehicle to sell the story then crashed the vehicle into a wall at the end by saying that there is no God. I am really so very disappointed because this movie really could have made a difference if it would have pushed through to the end with the message instead of bailing out by taking the wordly view on life.
