I usually really love costume and period dramas, they are so beautiful to look at and if the story is half good I usually have a great time watching it. This film was beautiful to look at and the director really paid a lot of attention to detail which is great but the story was bad and i could not let that go. The film was very erratic and even unintentionally funny sometimes, i still enjoyed the film visually but not as much as I usually do. There is a lot of nudity in this film so if you are going on a date to see this film it might be very awkward. I also found this film to be way too long and I think the soundtrack did not suite the theme and the era (it was all modern music). Overall, I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters.

I love costume and period dramas, it is totally my guilty pleasure and I loved this film even though it had some flaws. The film is gorgeous visually and the director paid a lot of attention to detail, it was amazing and very impressive. I know this film will not appeal to a lot of people but art-house fans will find it perfect and beautiful. Some scenes do not work in this film and are unintentionally funny but I still liked the film. Overall, this film is not for everyone but if you like beauty you will love this film.
