Homefront Movie Reviews

I did go see the Home Front on Thanksgiving day. I did know what to expect from the previews and the basic narrative. The action scenes were well done, somewhat predictable, but like all these types of movies a measure of revenge is the driving force, throw in a little girl with bad guys and you've got the making of similar action/drama movies. After reading the above mostly negative reviews, you have to consider the intended audience. The story was basic revenge, single parent small town setting, new guy in town. A couple of loose ends could have been addressed better, but the movie did leave an opening for a follow story.
I was looking forward to seeing this film and had high hopes for it, but despite an impressive cast, the film was disappointing. It is an action movie about a widowed ex-DEA agent who retires to a small town for the sake of his 10-year-old daughter, unfortunately, he picked the wrong town. I thought the plot twists got more and more ridiculous as the story developed and it was quite frustrating. I did not enjoy the characters and I thought that every actor was mis-casted, therefore everybody’s performance was really bad and it’s a shame because they are not bad actors, it’s just a bad movie. It was a very generic and predictable thriller that did not offer anything new or exciting and I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters or at home.
My friend really wanted to see this film for some unknown reason and he dragged me along. I knew that the film will not be good just from watching the trailer and I was not wrong, the film really sucked. It was very predictable, boring and the dialogue was absolutely ridiculous. The acting was pretty horrific as well, it felt that every actor was mis-casted and it was truly hard to watch. I found that as the story went along, the plot twists became more and more insane and logic was no longer taken into consideration. I kind of wanted to leave in the middle but my friend was actually enjoying it and I did not want to act like an ahole. Overall, I do not recommend seeing this film in the theaters, it is not worth your time or money.
