This is a drama about Brazilian-born Heleno de Freitas who conquered the world of soccer in 1940’s. THe film was alright but I do not think it is worth seeing on the big screen, you will be better off renting it. The film looks really good and I liked the black and white look of it but I feel that it did not capture the essence of Heleno and I kept waiting for it throughout the film, it was quite disappointing when it never came. I did think that Rodrigo Santoro did a superb job with the role and I was highly impressed, he should be recognized for this role. Heleno’s story is a real bummer and it also made me quite angry, I kept thinking to myself that this guy had everything and because of pure stupidity he lost everything as well.
