This is a drama about a love triangle that was written, directed, edited, art directed and costume designed by young Canadian director Xavier Dolan. I thought the characters in the film were well developed and interesting but not very likable. The film also looked very cool and I think that the cinematograpgy was amazing and i know that this was a low budget film but it sure did not look that way. The story is pretty risky and some of the choices that Xavier Dolan makes are questionable but it is definitely interesting to watch and it is intriguing. I think Xavier Dolan is an excellent young director/actor/editor and I can not wait to see what else he will come up with. I recommend seeing this film.
I did not like this film and i do not recommend seeing it. First of all, the camera work is absolutely terrible and I hate when i watch a movie and it feels like the camera was hand-held(maybe it really was, the director is also fond of using slow motion and it is super annoying. The storyline is not original and it feels tired. The movie did have some funny dialogue but it definitely was not enough to save it from being bad. It is undeniable that Xavier Dolan has talent but he needs to learn to use it in a right way. Overall, I suggest to save your money and stay home.
