I did not like this film and do not recommend seeing it in the theaters. I like sweet movies but this one was just unrealistic. I don’t think the filmmakers understand that people who are not Christians will never be able to relate to this film. This movie does not advertise itself as a faith based film but it totally is and it follows all of the cliches of Christian movies as well. I wish someone made a faith-based film that actually would let the audience have an honest conversation about spirituality. Overall, I think this film follows all of the stereotypes and it is not worth wasting your time and money on it. -
I really hate faith -based films, they literally make me sick and this film does not market itself as a faith-based film and that is such a lie because it totally is. I wish I knew it and I could have avoided sitting in the theater and constantly rolling my eyes and also hating myself for spending my hard-earned money on this stupid movie. Basically, if you are not Christian you will pretty much hate this film and you will also regret watching it. The film is full, I mean really full of stupid scenes where people sit on the beach and quote the Bible, can it get any worse? Overall, I suggest you avoid this film at any cost. -
What an amazing film! Very well written and acted. Rosanna Arquette's best film in years. It's a heavy subject about a single mother and her son who is forced to seek out his father after she falls ill. All this is balanced with some awesome skateboarding. This film has a solid message about the power of forgiveness and what happens to us when we fail to forgive others and ourselves.
Go see this film while it's still in theaters.
