I love martial arts films and I was very excited about this film. I am glad to say that I really liked it and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was very interesting, beautiful to look at and I liked the message of it. There is an elegant restraint in this film and I was surprised by that because Miike usually has a flair for wild theatrics. The film is very graceful and moving and the scenes where blood is shed are not sensational but emotional instead and that just shows the talent of the director. The film is also beautifully acted and it was a real pleasure to watch the actors do their thing.
