gran torino by far is probly the best movie since star wars. in gran torino there is a lot of action. gran torino is also the best movie i have seen and you will especiallyenjoy it if you like clint eastwood so go see the movie
Typical (later) Clint Eastwood movie, although not his best, but with plenty of grit, substance and good acting from this movie veteran. Although, a few of the "other" less know actors, need a little Eastwood training!!
Easy for viewers to follow, with a good, original and well written script. Great for Detroit and worth seeing.
This movie was like a high school play, or perhaps a TV show targeted at teenagers - one of the worst films I\'ve seen in years. I was literally embarrassed to be in the audience watching it. It was trite, the acting was dreadful, and I really wonder how Clint Eastwood manages to continue to get mileage out of his smirks and growls.
This movie was great. I\'ve never been a big fan of Clint Eastwood, I always thought he was kinda cheesy, and thats the first thing I thought when I saw the trailers for this movie. After seeing it, I was very pleased. The story line was great and the acting was very good as well. You kind of fall in love with the characters. It\'s absolutly worth paying for!
I expected to see Clint as the "typical" tough guy/no mercy type cop/FBI agent/thief in this movie, but was VERY surprised to watch and listen to a story TOTALLY OPPOSITE of what I've always known Clint to portray in his past movies!
The story was definitely unexpected but delightful in many ways.
As a "Senior" also, I found myself straining just to hear what Clint was saying through 98% of the movie!
Unfortunately, his advanced age has greatly diminished his speaking voice (volume and clarity) which in my opinion, was the only "negative" in the movie.
Good job, Clint! "Gran Torino" just proves how "multi-talented" you are, and can be! :-)
I've wanted to see this film since viewing the trailer a couple of months ago. A crusty, bitter, dying Clint Eastwood pulls off a hilarious Archie Bunker-type performance by using every deragatory racist term in the book. The real story is the touching relationship that develops between Eastwood and his young Asian neighbors who simply aspire to assimilate into American culture. Highly recommended.
Sometimes when you watch previews for a movie, then go see it, you find the best parts of the movie were in the preview clips. Not so with Gran Torino; it delivers on its promise. This was one of Clint Eastwood's best performances with a superb supporting cast. The story was believable, touching, and held my attention from start to finish. Go see it.
i really enjoyed this movie. clint eastwood is very funny with his serious attitude and as a 70 year old man still kickin ass. a little bit of poor acting and racism but very funny and serious action. i admire the helping of a distraught neighbor instead of getting closer to his own family.
This is a gripping racially-intensified drama, but not one of Eastwood's best. A reprise of the Dirty Harry character, I found myself laughing more than I thought I would. A statement on the evolving melting pot that is today's society, leaving the younger generations to continue to bridge the gaps, all the while struggling to survive inner-city challenges.
Eastwood had best not get his first acting Oscar here, as it is essentially Harry Callahan playing a bigoted Korean War vet.
THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME.WHEN I MOVED IN MY HOUSE I WAS 18 AND KNOW I'M 51 AND EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED HERE NOT AS BAD AS IN THE MOVIE BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND WHATS HE GOING THOUGH.HES A TOUGH WHITE MAN BUT HAS A GOOD HEART.AND HELPING OTHER PEOPLE THAT NOT HIS RACE IS GREAT TO ME .EVRYTHINGS CHANGES BUT DONT HAVE TO BE A BAD CHANGE.
