I agree with everything that the other reviewers have said but this Godzilla incarnation didn't work for me. I recognized the blueprint for the story and appreciated that the script honored the Godzillas of the past. This is a Godzilla that protects mankind against the monsters that would like to eliminate us. That being said, I didn't care for the script and its attempt to add the human element to a film about monsters fighting. I grew increasingly frustrated after too many shots of the monsters fighting only to have the camera pan downward to capture one of our heroes directly beneath the fight. I eventually threw my arms up in disbelief that these characters were able to get around to so many different places and manage to end up right in the path of the fight so often. I also didn't appreciate that so many fights took place at night, thus making it hard to see what was going on. In the end, I enjoyed it three stars worth but not much more.

I love this movie but that's because I don't mind lots of character development but if you are expecting lots of carnage and destruction you might be disappointed but it makes up for good story and acting

It was just barely above average. The movie never really took off. They tried so hard to develop a back story (which is usually a really good idea), but this took WAY too long to develop. I found myself yawning many times during the movie. Don't get me wrong: Kids will love it, as anything as big as Godzilla keeps kids entertained. However, for we adults, it was just mediocre. The was a poor-man's Pacific Rim. If you have kids, take them to see it. If you have no kids, I wouldn't waste my money.

This was an awesome film and I totally recommend seeing it on the big screen, in fact, that is the only way it should be seen. I was blown away by how good this film looks and how impressive the creature looked, the director did a great job. I know that the budget was enormous for this film but not every director can use the money in the right way, however Gareth Edwards knew exactly what he was doing. I thought that the film had a nice balance between all the action and human drama. The film is very entertaining and it simply must be seen in 3D, it was worth the extra cash. Overall, it is a fun movie to watch on the big screen, definitely the most entertaining one this summer.

I am not the biggest fan of big budget Hollywood films but my nephew was dying to see it and as a good aunt I took him. the film was exactly what I thought it would be, so if you like special effects, action and giant creatures destroying everything, this is the film for you. The director attempted to develop the characters in the film, but in the end it was all about the destruction caused by Godzilla and plenty of quite impressive special effects. My nephew had the time of his life, he couldn’t have been happier about seeing this film and that made me happy. If you do decide to see it, I suggest paying the extra cash and seeing it n 3D, I have to admit it was quite entertaining.

I am not a big fan of movies like these but my friend was dying to see it so I went with him. Well, it was pretty good, especially if you like monster movies, where monsters are huge and destroy everything in their path. The film was amazing visually and the special effects were really impressive. I thought that the film stroke a nice balance between all the action and human drama. It’s not a revolutionary movie but it is definitely very entertaining and worth the price of the ticket. The movie is beautifully filmed and the creature looks impressive, but with that big of the budget I kind of expected that. Overall, if you like big budget, over the top monster films, this is the film for you.

I was extremely excited to see this film on the big screen and I was a bit afraid that it will be disappointing somehow. Well, I am glad to say that I was not disappointed at all and I highly recommend seeing this film on the big screen, it’s so worth it! I loved the way this movie looked, I know that the director had a huge budget but he also has talent and he worked the camera beautifully. The creature looked incredible and I liked that the director totally embraced the blockbuster stature, it was great and totally what i have expected it to be. I also liked that there was some real human drama not only the creature destroying everything (don’t get me wrong, I loved that part as well). Overall, this film must be seen on the big screen and I think it will be worth your time and money.

Awesome!. If you like the genre of monster movies, or just summer blockbusters then go see this movie, could be the most fun you will have at the movies all summer. Ok, not everything makes total sense, but the plot will not insult your intelligence. Go and enjoy.
