Giver Movie Reviews

A solid movie. It made you think. Kind of a blend between Logan's Run and The Truman Show. The movie starts out in black and white and morphs into color. The classic tale of learning to think on your own. Very creative. I would recommend seeing the movie.
I was really excited to see this film, I have read the book and absolutely loved it. When I saw the cast of this film I became even more excited, so my hopes were quite high for this film. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this film and I do not recommend seeing it on the big screen, it’s just not worth the price of a ticket. The novel was risky and exciting, while the film was quite boring and conventional, it failed to translate the book’s ideas. The film also felt unfinished and the characters were not really developed so it was hard to feel for them. The acting was great, but even great acting can’t save the film if it’s missing everything else…
I was really excited to see this film, I have read the book and absolutely loved it. I was also really happy to see that the creators of this film chose a wonderful cast. So, I went in with high hopes and even though the film did not meet them completely, I still enjoyed watching it. I found this adaptation to be very entertaining and quite thoughtful, it was also very well acted. The fill was thought-provoking and I really appreciate that. I am quite sure that the fans of the novel will not be disappointed, I myself had a wonderful time watching this film. Overall, I recommend seeing this movie on the big screen, it will totally dazzle you.
I love sci-fi films, however I am not a fan of the whole genre of teens rescuing the world. I think it is silly and every movie pretty much tries to imitate Hunger Games, which started this whole craze. Anyway, I have not read the book, so i went in cold, and sadly came out even colder, this film did not impress me at all. I was intrigued by the cast and I have no complaints about it, they were all great and the film is very well acted. However, the film itself felt rushed, i wish they took time to built up the mythology and conflict in this movie, it felt that everything was kind of pushed over the edge and it did not feel organic. Overall, I do not think it is worth seeing on the big screen, however you might enjoy watching it at the comfort of your home.
