How is footloose is it good I might be seeing it today
i really want to see this movie, think it looks really good. it's a modern twist on a classical story, and it makes it easy for this generation to relate to. can't wait to see it, glad it's in a theater near me. really excited!
I have never seen the original film and I have to say that I enjoyed this film, I am almost emberassed to say that but it is true. The film was fun to watch and it is never hard to watch very fit and attractive people wearing very tight clothes and dancing, i could not complain about that. The film was very energetic and I actually cared about the characters, i know that the idea of the film is incredibly dumb but somehow it worked on the screen. I have to say that dancing sequences were amazing and my dancer friend was in mesmerized and super jealous of the actors in the film. Overall, i recommend seeing this film if you want to be entertained and nothing else.
I LOVED this movie! I saw the original too, thought this was just as good if not better. I am a senior, my niece and I went to see it, both of us walked out smiling. Good music, good moves, and IF you are small town, this DOES make sense. Things like this may not happen in big cities, but it sure can and does in small towns.!
Absolutely LOVED THIS MOVIE,,,, way better than original, SORRY...
but this one had more Meat to it, cooler dance moves, and music scores.
So go see it, it is well worth the bucks.
If you like corny movies where the cast is super fit and the clothes are super tight AND it involves dancing, this is your film, you will have a blast watching it. I thought that the film was alright, i wanted to see something that will put me in a good mood and not make me think and this film was perfect for that. The whole idea of the film is ridiculous but entertaining and I can see how in 1980’s this film was a hit, however in 2011 it does not make any sense and is simply not realistic, that said I had a pretty good time watching it. The cast in the film does a decent job and the film benefits from that greatly. Overall, if you are looking for mindless entertainment, look no further.
I wont do what alot of people do and tell you about themovie.
A few of the items were changed, they were trying to keep up with the changeing times.
I Felt that the original footloosewas a 5 star movie, music for the times as well as the dancing, so comparing, I may be a little biased.
Some of the parts that WERE NOT changed seemed kind of hokey because those parts I felt should have been changed with the times.
I gave a 4 star just because of the previous statement. I still enjoyed the movie, the dancing and music.
For a film about dancing this was not a bad one, it was bearable and that is a lot coming from a guy. I took my date to this film and she absolutely loved and I got major points for taking her to see this film. I have not seen the original film, I mean why would I, but this one was pretty good and the acting was not bad at all. The actors wear extremely tight close and everybody is in an amazing shape, it is pleasant for the eyes and other senses. Overall, this was not as bad as I expected it to be and if you have a girlfriend or have a date, it is a perfect film to take her to.
This is a film about dancing being prohibited in a small town, the film is directed Craig Brewer and stars Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid. I am a dancer and I am a complete sucker for these films, they are my guilty pleasure and this film was the best dance film I have seen in a long time. It stayed very close to the original in all the good ways and I had a great time watching it. I thought that the actors did a great job in this film, the acting was way better than the original film. Overall, I think it was a very entertaining and fun film and I think anyone would have fun watching it.
The original Footloose was dumb fun with great music and some excellent acting. But seriously, it was pretty dumb. Luckily, the filmmakers seemed to know this, and they didn't take themselves too seriously (really, watch the game of chicken with tractors or the dance teaching sequence again - pure cheese). The remake was directed by Craig Brewer, a director known for his dramatic films, who brings this sensibility to a movie that didn't need it at all.
If you've seen the original, you know exactly what happens in this movie. In fact, this remake is, with a few additions, almost a carbon copy. There are scenes that are shot almost exactly as they were shot in the original. Here, we get to see the car crash that starts the whole story off, but it doesn't add any emotional resonance to the film. And that's the feeling I got with the whole movie. None of these updates add anything to the movie.
That's not to say there aren't entertaining moments. I still love the songs from the original, and they've kept some of those from the film. But things that made me smile when I was a kid (like Ren teaching Willard to dance) just felt hollow to me. I don't mind updating of old films, but when the original was so much fun and the new one seems to suck all of the fun out of the room, I just don't see the point.
