I've always wanted to see this movie with my boyfriend . But i never got o . Do you think East Park Cinema will let it stay in until Friday , April 12. Thanks (:
This is one of those rare movies that actually lives up to the original. I have seen the original with my big sister when I was little and she would sneak me into her sleepovers where she would watch scary movies and our parents didn't know I had gotten out of bed, lol. It definitely has a special place in my heart, needless to say. As a girl, I really liked how the updated new version has a lot of females in it who aren't damsels in distress but who really know how to kick booty and who make everything seem like they can take care of it on their own. Now that's what I call progress! There aren't any "name" stars in the movie, which is a shame since it's gonna be a huge hit - although it's also a good thing because now these young kids in the movie can become superstars. They are all mega talented and I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot more of all of them.
By far the best horror film I have ever seen. PERIOD. This movie was scaaaaaary! I was genuinely terrified by everything in this story and that's coming from a guy who watched all the Saw's! The girl who ends up becoming the demon is a really good actress and I would say that she should end up getting some acting awards for her performance - at least from the award ceremonies that are set aside for scary films. The whole thing is a typical murder fest with teens in the woods, but it's important to remember that this was the original movie that made that kind of story a craze. This new updated version is a lot like the old one only it is kind of sleeker. I would say that you should see the new one first and then the old one, just so the new one gets a fair chance. On the whole, I would say that this is the best movie out there and you should take your bros and buds - it's the scream of a lifetime!
I remember watching the original film back when I was a teen in the early 80s and it left a profound impact on me. It was just so terrifying on so many levels. The good news is that this movie is not really a remake so much as an update on the original, which means that it kind of has its own story to tell. The original director - Sam Raimi - produced this film, which means that it is really in the same spirit as the original. Personally, I miss the old cast and there will never be anything like the original (is there ever?) so I don't think I can give this more than 3 stars. That being said, it's still a good flick and deserves to be seen by the new generation. I would say though that it's only suitable for kids over 17. Anyone younger will be traumatized and I don't think as a parent I would ever let my younger kids see it. On the whole, it might even be worth taking your spouse with you if you both want to relive the olden days and then compare notes, lol.
There is a classic movie of the same name from director Sam Raimi which is as “classic” as any horror film about a group of teenagers in a cabin in the woods can possibly be. It isn’t smart, but it also isn’t gory for the sake of gory. It wants to shock and inspire fear so as to make us understand that a demon lies within all of us. Yup, good times.
The mayhem begins when a group of teenage friends fresh from college finals decides to head to a deserted cabin in the woods. The resident nerd of the group commits the first sin by reading from proverbial book of dead. A demon is unleashed and one of the teens end up getting raped and then inhabited by the same demon. If this were set during a Republican primary, the Tea Party candidate would tell the raped teenager that it was God’s will that she be raped by a demon. Ah, America.
The girl returns to the cabin where she then enters into a murderous rampage that ends, well, you know. For fans of the genre, this will be a treat; for fans of the original, this will also be a much-heralded remake as it goes beyond what the original did and also pays homage to the 1981 film. For anyone else, you might revel in the fact that the women are pretty kick ass in the story this time, and the demon isn’t exactly what you think of when you think horror movie demons.
I was really excited to see this film, I love the original film and my expectations were really high for this film. I am very happy to say that I loved this film and i highly recommend seeing this film in the theaters, that is if you enjoy watching horror films. The plot of the film felt fresh and original in its own way and I really liked that the women in the film were portrayed as strong enough to defend themselves, that is pretty awesome if you ask me. I am a big fan of scary films and I do not remember the last time I saw a scary film that was as scary as this one. I was on the edge of my seat through the whole film and I absolutely loved it. The film is definitely very gory and if you have weak nerves I do not recommend seeing this film. Overall, I had a great time and I think that fans of the original film will have a blast watching this movie.
I am not a big fan of scary films, I get too scared and end up covering my eyes and missing most of the action. My boyfriend made me see this film because he is a big fan of the original movie. I wish I did not see it, it was way too scary and way too gory for my taste, I spent the whole film covering my eyes and praying that it will be over soon. I do have to say that he plot was pretty interesting and I liked the acting but it was just not my type of movie. My boyfriend absolutely loved it he said that it was one of the best scary films he has seen in a long time. Overall, I guess I recommend seeing this film if you like horror flicks and I suggest staying away from this film if you have weak nerves like I do.
