Erased Movie Reviews

I did not like this film and I do not think it is worth seeing in the theaters. The film was not horrible but I have seen it many times before and a much better version of it as well. The action was pretty entertaining and the acting was good, but I was still bored just because i knew how it will end, i knew the characters and there was absolutely nothing original about this film at all. Eckhart was alright in this film, he was kind of coasting, but Liberato was wonderful and I really enjoyed his performance. Overall, the film is better off watched at home, I would not suggest seeing it on the big screen.
Okay, don't ask me why but the website for this movie is ALL in chinese. And so is the trailer (the subtitles, at least). Is this a case of the Chinese financing Hollywood so much that we're effectively becoming Chollywood? Whatever the case is, I hope that if the Chinese are going to finance our movies that they opt for better and smarter scripts that this one. This is nothing but your standard Hollywood spy caper with all the usual ingredients. There is a "twist" but it's so predictable that it becomes just another plot point. It seemed to me that Aaron Eckhart - who was so great in The Dark Knight - was just trying to be a cross between Matt Damon and Harrison Ford. It's not a terrible flick, but it coulda and shoulda been waaaay better. Worth checking out if you got the time and dime, but you're not missing much if you just wait for the TNT broadcast version.
It’s flicks like Erased that give action movies a bad name. It’s also flicks like Erased that make otherwise capable and respectable actors like Aaron Eckhart look like utter fools.
I’d try to delve into the plot and describe what happens, but basically here’s what you need to know: it’s a (barely) lukewarm rehash of the Bourne franchise sprinkles with bits of your favorite Harrison Ford/Liam Neeson revenge drama. That’s it.
It’s also an exercise in watching actors so uninspired by the material they’re given that they choose not to act but to sleepwalk their way through the movie. If there was a line in the movie that wasn’t a predictable snooze, I didn’t hear it. A total disaster.
