I thought this movie was gripping. Must see movie if you like Action and Drama. It had me till the very end. It does have violence and isn't for the faint of heart.

This is one of the better movies I’ve seen in a while. The only other role I’ve seen Jake Gillenhaal in that compares to his acting in this role is Jarhead, which I loved as well. End of Watch is about 2 cops who discover something on duty that lands them directly in the crosshairs of drug cartel. The story gets crazy from there. The entire time they are be hunted by the craziest gangsters in all of LA. It was such a violent movie, and a very dark movie. I was pretty much on the edge of my seat the entire time. Action packed and great acting made this movie an A for me.

I absolutely loved this movie. It had everything that makes a good movie in my opinion: great acting, action packed, violence, a great story, and good chemistry between costars. End of Watch, starring Jake Gilenhaal and Michael Pena, is a story about two young LA cops who get in serious trouble after discovering a secret of the Mexican drug cartels. After that, the cartel puts a hit out on both cops. The movie was gritty and filmed so well. I believe it was by the director of Training Day, another great cop movie. My favorite part about this movie is that I’ve never seen this story before. Most movies are just recycled stories but this one seemed absolutely original.

Finally, another movie from the director of Training Day about LA cops. This movie was thrilling. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, this film follows 2 young cops who discover a secret that puts them as the target of a city wide man hunt by criminals to assassinate them. All of this is orchestrated by the Mexican drug cartels. This movie was gritty and violent, I really loved it. Jake’s acting was amazing along with his costar, Michael Pena. Pena also does a great job in this film. I’ve seen him in a couple other films but I think he’s going to be big after this one. My favorite part was the chemistry between the two actors. They are very believable as friends and partners.

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, this thrilling, action packed police drama is one of the best movies I have seen in a while. The film is about two police officers who stumble upon a drug cartel’s big secret. After that, they are the target of an assassination attempt that involves seemingly every criminal in the city. This film is directed by the same director as Training Day. In the same fashion as Training Day, this movie is very gritty and raw. The acting is great too, Jake Gyllenhaal is one of my favorite actors and Michael Pena also does an amazing job. I enjoyed the entire movie through and through. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I was so excited to see this movie and it really delivered. From the director of Training Day (one of my favorite movies), End of Watch is another police related movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña. I really liked this film. It is about two young police officers that discover something that makes them the target of a Mexican drug cartel. The audience is thrown into the center of the action packed chase and it is seriously intense. The characters are also very cool. You really believe the bond between the two main police officers. This film is similar to training day in that it is extremely intense. The entire movie I was at the edge of my seat. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie.

I thought this film was really great and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. I am a sucker for police dramas and this one was extremely good and different from anything I have seen before. The film was very thrilling and I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole thing. I loved that the movie managed to avoid cliches and really got under the skin of the characters and showed what being a policeman entails. I thought that Gyllenhall and Peña had a great chemistry together and they were also very charming individually, I liked their characters a lot. Overall, if you are looking for a good thriller I urge you to see this film, you will not be disappointed.

End of Watch is an Oscar worthy movie in my opinion. It is really gritty and realistic and makes you think that the best way to serve your community is to become a cop even though it's one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, especially if you live in an area where drug cartels are drug related murders and kidnappings are common. Jake Gyllenhaal is so unbelievable in his role, I couldn't believe this was the same guy from "Prince of Persia" and "Love & Other Drugs". He has really grown into an awesome actor. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the next Brando, he's so great. Equally amazing is Michael Pena. He gives a more subtle performance but it doesn't lack any power. I think this movie should be on everyone's radar throughout the rest of the year. It will definitely win a ton of awards, especially for its lead actors. Bravo!

End of Watch is a superb movie. I always love this time of the year because this is when the Oscar race starts to begin after the ho hum flicks of the summer movie season. After last week's amazing The Master, this week has the equally sensational End of Watch and I think everyone should go out of their way to see it. It's about two cops who patrol southern California that is plagued by drugs and violence. They have dreams and ambitions but the reality of being a cop keeps getting in the way. The movie is basically an homage to police officers and those who serve the community by putting their lives on the line every day knowing that this might very well be the day that everything goes wrong and they are permanently injured or killed. Michael Pena deserves every award out there for his perfect performance. Gyllenhaal is also quite good.

Even though this movie is more violent than I like (especially for a movie that I let my teens watch) I think it still teaches some important lessons about community and family. I really loved the way they showed the bond between the two main characters who are almost like brothers even though they come from two very different backgrounds. The time they share trying to serve their community is what makes them inseparable, and I really could appreciate how the filmmakers expressed the idea that those who work to uphold the law even under the harshest circ**stances are the ones who really deserve our respect, and not the pretty celebrities we seem to idolize for no reason at all. My kids seemed to pick up on this too and we had a long discussion about how drugs and violence are a fact of life for so many in America now. This movie helped show them that not everything is super peachy as they think.
