This movie is definitely worth seeing. Viggo Mortensen is a very convincing Russian mobster. The only disappointing part of the movie is the ambiguous & somewhat far fetched ending. -
A thriller that is gruesome at times and tender at others. Story involves Anna (Naomi Watts) - a British midwife, who helps a dying Russian girl give birth to a baby. The girl’s diary survives her, and when Anna seeks answers in it she becomes entangled with the Russian mob. There are some wonderful performances by the actors especially Viggo Mortensen who plays a mysterious and charismatic driver for one of the crime families. Contains an interesting theme about flesh vs. the sole and whether one’s appearance can accurately reflect their true identity.
