I saw this movie and must say that it is definitely worth checking out. Anyone who liked the first one will love it. In many ways the movie has the same momentum as The Dark Knight. It's gritty, violent, and flows well. Urban (Dredd) delivers a consistent performance throughout of justice and merciless administration of justice -- with a freakishly similar jaw and voice as Stallone.

Judge Dredd, the original movie from I think the ‘90s, was a movie I absolutely loved. It was corny, violent, and a terrible vision of the future. Dredd, the new remake of that film, was absolutely amazing. Starring a few actors I’ve never actually heard of, including Karl Urban, this film is a visually stunning version of the ‘90s version. It basically follows the same story line of a chaotic world ruled by criminals in which there are Judges, who are basically judge, jury and executioner all rolled into one. The acting was decent but what really set this movie apart was the set pieces that one after another impressed me. Definitely not a movie for everyone but any guy will like this film.

Dredd was such a good movie. This is a remake of the film Judge Dredd from the 90s. This story is that a bunch of criminals have taken over most of the country and the only law in the land is are Judges, who are the judge, jury, and executioner. They have the ability to enforce the laws on site. They wear really cool gear too. This movie was great because it was such a better version of the one from the 90s. The photography was awesome, the visuals were amazing and the acting was much better. This movie had everything I like, violence, blood, action, and science fiction. Definitely a movie I would recommend to anyone.

Karl Urban, probably best known from Lord of the Rings, stars in this remake of the 90s film Judge Dredd. The 90s version was kind of a joke. It was a B-movie at best. Dredd on the other hand, took the original version not only into this era, but also into the A-movie list. It included amazing visuals, great sets, incredible computer graphics, and decent acting. The story was along the same lines as the original but pumped up for the enjoyment of this generation. I must say that I very much enjoyed this film. It was violent, action packed, had great visuals, and most of all was entertaining. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone.

This film was awesome and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. I tried to go into this film with low expectations because lately I have been constantly disappointed with my movie choices. However, this film was great and for the first time in a long time I left the theater completely satisfied. It looked great, it was thrilling and exciting and the characters totally rocked. The film was super violent, well-thought out and extremely fun to watch, i was pleasantly surprised. Overall, this film was great and i definitely think it should be seen on a big screen.

I went to see this film with my boyfriend and I thought it was alright and I think that it is worth saying in the theaters. The film looked pretty cool visually and the story was interesting and i can see how it will be a big hit among males. The film was too gory and bloody for my taste but my boyfriend loved it so who knows, I guess you will have to see it for yourself. I do have to admit that the film was entertaining and it had great action scenes. I also thought that the film was flawlessly casted and I loved all of the characters. Overall, if you like these types of films I recommend seeing this one in the theaters.

I can't believe I am saying this but this is actually a really impressive movie. It could be just that I am suffering from low expectations that made me think this movie would be nothing more than just a CGI orgy with no story or character. It does have its fair share of moments where the only thing going on screen is obviously the result of fancy special effects, but the story is also really interesting it takes the whole concept of vigilante justice and puts it front and center in the movie in a way that's really relevant these days (remember the whole Trayvon Martin tragedy?) This movie is great at showing how that sort of cop, judge, jury, and executioner mentality can go to the extreme in a very bad and very extreme way...i think the writer (who has teamed up on films with Danny Boyle in the past) thought of this while penning the script. It is surprisingly thoughtful and well-made. I would recommend it over all the other major releases this week.

You gotta give credit where credit is due: this is actually not a bad movie! I was kinda shocked and stunned by how much I actually enjoyed sitting through this action flick which is really no smarter than your average episode of Might Morphin Power Rangers. But the movie likes to poke fun at itself in the right moments so you know that they too are making inside jokes about the genre and that they get it. True, some of the scenes are crazy violent and there are more than a few bullets flying thru the air that could have been cut out (really, how many does one movie need?) but for a movie that's basically a futuristic version of "Die Hard" you kind of have to be willing to be generous with its excessive artistic license. You won't walk away with a newfound love for all things Dredd, but you will be surprised by how much fun this movie is, even with your low expectations.

I guess there's something that has to be said for a Hollywood remake or reboot that gets it right .... for once. Yeah, I know, the Amazing Spider-Man was kind of amazing in all the right spots, but so was the original and we didn't really need the reboot. It's all the same, right? But this movie is actually a few million light years better than the 1995 movie that starred Sylvester Stallone. Stallone isn't exactly known for his acting skills, but Karl Urban is, which is why this movie works. It doesn't introduce us to anything new that we haven't seen before, but since it's a superhero movie that isn't releasing during the summer you should know that you're in decidedly b-grade territory. The movie does work thanks to the performances and its fast paced plot, which has the usual twists and turns but which doesn't feel all that familiar. It's a small wonder that the movie ends up being as watchable as it is when it will surely be savaged by the critics.

How on earth was I talked into sitting through 96 minutes of abject torture?! Only a mother who REALLY loves her sons would agree to sit through this wannabe action man drivel. The only thing I can remember now is how LOUD and how VIOLENT this movie was. Everything was a exercise in, well, excess and it all felt like an assault on my senses. The only thing my boys seemed to enjoy in this movie was watching the millions of bullets that are shot in it fly through dozens of drug dealing faces at slow motion. I can't understand the entertainment value in that, but then I guess this movie wasn't made for me. This is definitely a movie you'll want to go with your kids to see though if they absolutely insist on watching it. I think that the young and the impressionable need to learn that the glorified violence in the movie is not something to take lightly, especially since it all is supposed to be set in the future where everything should be better than it is now. This is even worse than the 1995 version of Judge Dredd that starred Stallone. And Karl Urban can act...
