Hell no....bloody awful, even for sports fanatics....don't waste your money...go see The Grand Budapest Hotel instead!
I am not a sports fan at all, in fact, I do not watch any sport ever. So, as you can imagine, I did not want to see this movie at all, yet I still saw it because my friend dragged me with him. He is THE sports fan, any sport, and he also loves movies about sports. If he did not pay for the ticket and candy ,I would have never seen this film and probably would have been much happier. Anyway, I did not like this film and I do not think it is worth seeing on the big screen, even if you love sports. I felt that this film was shallow and invasive and I really was not impressed with Kevin Costner’s performance. I also found this movie to be incredibly dumb, mainly because the idea itself is stupid, it’s a sports movie that is not even about sports…
I went to see this film with my best friend who is a professional football player, so as you can guess he was way into it and I could not care less. I am not a fan of sports films, so I will try my best to be unbiased. The film was alright, it was well directed, but it had a weak story and not so good acting. I don’t know what is happenng with Kevin Costner, he used to be such a great actor, but it is not his year. It kind of felt that he did not really care about the role and it made the film feel insignificant. I also thought that Jennifer Garner, who was great in Dallas Buyers Club, was miscasted. The narrative was weak, but if you are into sport movies you might like it. However, I do not think this film is worth seeing on the big screen.
My friend is a huge sports fan and he really wanted to see this film. I was kind of indifferent and because he was buying the ticket, I agreed to see it. The film was not bad, but I definitely do not think it is worth seeing on the big screen, you will be better off seeing it at the comfort of your home. I felt that the story was not interesting and that many of the actors were miscasted, especially Jennifer Garner. I feel like this year has been not a good one for Kevin Costner and it seems that he is not the same actor as he once was, I hope he bounces back though. The acting was mediocre throughout the film and the only actor that actually stood out was Chadwick Boseman. Overall, it is not a bad film but you will not lose anything if you don’t see it.
