i do not recommend any to watch or not watch this. it upsets me how people rate and view film! if you like Torentino's films that's kool, if you DONT like them, then dont watch them!! people are idiots, obviously those who gave negative feedback on this feature, dont know how to watch movies and not open to entertainment. now a terrible movie would be: house of a thousand corpses. chainsaw series (other than the original), SAW series, hostel, and sweeney todd!! haha more gorey than this movie!!!
i actually didnt hear about this movie til it came out. and i have to say i enjoyed it! it was a little long but it did keep me interested through the movie. the thing i like about this movie, you on the side of the main character and you want him to succeed. emotions get all up in it and that makes it intense. revenge movie. although i'm upset not one native guy was scene in this american continent setting movie!! geez! ha jk.
torintino always goes up and down in his quality. kill bill was awesome. his other recent movie, THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS, now that movie did suck. i was disappionted in that one!!
welp enjoy! and i will probably get this movie when it comes on dvd

Did Django really get the Golden Globes best screenplay award? I left the theater twice to get a break from the violence (okay, i'm 70 and had to pee too, but this time i was glad i had to!). Both times i considered not returning and continuing exposing myself to the gratuitous body mangling but came back each time hoping to find some redeeming value to the film. Finally, toward the end, when another non-believable/unlikely piece occurred (this time Django being allowed to live after the gunfight in which the good Doctor most unbelievably allowed himself to be blown away), i gave up and left for good. Sure, it was intended to be a bit spoofish (the KKK scene, e.g., funny NOT) and tongue in cheek cartoon like, but it really seems totally pointless to me and only contributed to negating my own personal vibration level. I don't need that.
Surely there are positive things to be said about the film (the acting and a lot of the choreography and cinematography, e.g.), but whats' the point of wasting one's energy on a film of such negative content when there are options like Lincoln to choose instead? Django is, in my opinion, a film for someone who is amused by violence. How sad, in so many ways.

Real and controversial topic, very sad depiction, predictable story line all the way to the end. Should have saved my money stayed home and read a book.

I kept hearing from different people how amazing this film was and i decided to see it for myself. What can I say, well I did not like it and I do not think it is Tarantino’s best work at all. A lot of people get angry when I tell them that I did not think this film was good, but I don’t care that is just my opinion, we all have different opinions afterall. I thought that the film was edited weirdly, not like his previous movies and I also thought that it was way too long and way too violent. I also think that somebody should advise Tarantino against acting because he can not act at all, his Australian accent was abysmal and the whole scene just did not work because of him. I did think that the film had a good story and the soundtrack was pretty awesome and I enjoyed watching DiCaprio and Waltz act. However, everything else was just blah and I do not understand why people loved this film so much.

I think Tarantino is a talented guy and all of his film have a very particular feel to them, however I do not enjoy watching his films. The main reason why I do not like his films is because they are all ultra violent and I just can’t stand that. We already live in a society that is oversaturated with violence and his films just add to it. Poeple say that the violence in his films is very stylized and that makes it alright and I hate when people say that. What does stylized violence even mean? It’s still violence and it’s still completely unnecessary, I just don’t understand why Tarantino has this need to spill blood so much... Django Unchained would have been a pretty great film but Tarantino could not resist to include couple of horrific violent scenes and that just completely ruined it for me. I also thought that the film was way too long, it did not need to be almost 3 hours long, who can sit for that long? I did enjoy DiCaprio’s and Waltz’s performances, they were really great but then again these actors are great in every movie that they do.

So I have to say that I am not a fan of Tarantino’s work, before I write this review. My friends can not believe it and my boyfriend tries to convince me that he is the greatest every chance he gets. I just do not enjoy watching his films, I think they are way too violent and the theme of revenge is tired and unimportant. I did not want to see this film but my boyfriend convinced me to give Tarantino one more chance, i mean the reviews of this film are amazing and everybody seems to love it. However, I did not, it was the same old Tarantino with unnecessary violence and blood splattering everywhere and the film was so freaking long! I honestly wanted to walk out couple of times but my boyfriend stopped me, I just do not understand why this film had to be almost 3 hours long, it was exhausting. Everybody raved how good Jamie Fox was and I just don’t see it, all he did was look tough and pissed off, he had like 4 lines in the film... The only two actors that I really enjoyed watching were Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz, they were really good and it was fun to watch them.

Finally, a director who is wiling to show a somewhat uncensored depiction of slavery.

I thought the movie was great. It did remind me of the spaghetti westerns of the past with a slight twist. Jamie Foxx's fancy gunmanship reminded me of Sammy Davis Jr. who was known as the fastest gun in Hollywood (due to the westerns he played in). I was glad to see a movie made in Hollywood about the negative black experience as it related to the slave trade. Hollywood does not seem to want to deal with that issue much as a movie topic. The black holocaust was much worst than what the Jews experienced. It lasted over a period of a few hundred years and the aftermath, the after effects of slavery are still felt to this day. This is a topic that should be talked about. Meanwhile, as far as this movie goes, it was very entertaining. There was no lag, It was not boring. Little kids should not see it because, as has already been stated, it is typically a Tarantino movie that is made for us mature adults that like his genre of fare. So I say enjoy.
