I did no like this film at all, but I am an adult so I guess i am not a targeted audience for this film, however my nephew who is 10 years old did not like it either. The film is very predictable and the story is so very unoriginal that it makes me sad. I have not seen the first film but if it was as boring as this one i do not understand why they made a sequel. Zachary Gordon is an excellent kid who can surely act and is cute enough to carry a movie all by himself and Devon Bostick, who plays his brother is a talented kid as well, but their talent do not make up for the fact that the film sucks.

As uncomfortable as it was, I actually enjoyed the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie. It was fun taking a trip back to that horribly awkward time in my life. I guess that nostalgia has a short shelf life, as Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, doesn't have the same appeal. The laughs were gone, and I was stuck with that horrible feeling of being back in middle school.
Greg is now in seventh grade, and more confidant. He's got his best friend, and a crush on the new girl in school. His problems now are more with his older brother, who tortures him to no end. Their mom decides they should spend more time together, which neither brother really wants. The brothers end up bonding of course, which was actually nice.
The major problem with this film is that it just wasn't that funny. The moments that made the first film fun and a little squirm inducing are lost here. The parents, as usual, are underwritten, but that's not a surprise; this is a film about the kids, but it does make it hard to watch as an adult. This movie is more for kids than the first, which makes it less watchable for someone my age.

This comedy for kids was cute and sweet and if you have children I recommend you to take them to see this film. I loved how the cartoon figures were integrated with the real people in the film, it was fun and innovative. I really liked the music that was chosen for this film, it was perfectly in sync with what was going on in the film. Zachary Gordon is a very talented kid and he can carry the film by himself, I was also really impressed with Devon Bostick, I think the kid is very talented. Overall, I liked this film and I think any kid would love it as well.

This is a comedy for children and I went to see this with my little sister and we agreed on one thing: this film was terrible. It is obvious that the filmmakers did not even try, they probably thought that kids do not deserve a good film or something. The film did not have any emotional background, it showed the worst parenting i have ever seen on screen and it was unbearably boring. Overall, I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters because it will most definitely be a waste of time and money.
