These kind of movies are my guilty pleasure. i do realize that this film was not that good but I love watching films about English boarding schools and watching the landscapes of that beautiful country. The film was wonderful visually and i just could not get enough of the beauty of that hilly island where the film was shot. The atmosphere of the film was created perfectly and I greatly enjoyed watching the girls live their lives in the school. i do have to admit that the film lacked a message and a purpose, but i still had a really good time watching it. I do have to say that it is probably better to rent this film instead of seeing it in the theaters.
This is a comedy/drama about a supermodel/activist Waris Dirie. This film is based on real life events and I was very much interested in Dirie’s life and her struggles. The actress Liya Kebede who plays Waris is absolutely stunning, I have not seen a beautiful woman like that in a long time and she is also a good actress. The film was alright, it was not very realistic form time to time and the message got lost somewhere but overall it was not bad and enjoyable enough to remember. The mutilation scene was handled pretty well, it was not explicit but it still shocked me to the core. Overall, the film is definitely worth seeing in the theaters.
