Death Race Movie Reviews
User reviews on Death Race
Well, what a pleasant surprise. "Death Race" delivered plenty of quality action (without a lot of CGI nonsense). The plot didn't get in the way of the flame throwers, turret-mounted machine guns and remote-controlled explosives. Jason Statham is a blank slate, which is all his part as the driver of a prison racing car requires. Tyrese Gibson is a much more commanding figure as the rival driver in a contest to see who can cross the finish line first and get out of jail free. Natalie Martinez can't really act, but she gets plenty of slack because it's her first movie and she looks fantastic in tight jeans and tank top.
All though small on plot, this movie is huge on action. So if you just want to watch a movie with fast cars, lots of explosions and some interesting death scenes than this is the movie for you.
It has nothing in common with the original Death Race 2000, except that the original Frankenstein, in this movie, is voiced by David Carradine, and hot chicks are partnered with male drivers. This is more of a mixture of Death race 2000 and Running Man, which predicted a future where inmates would have to run a race and possibly get killed to win their freedom.
This movie does take itself a little too seriously and isn’t as fun as the original. But if you go in not expecting an award winning film or even good acting then you will enjoy this film.
\"Too much actin in it\"???? What? That\'s like going to see an R-rated movie and saying the language and subject matter made the movie not kid friendly!!! It\'s and action flick and did it deliver! It\'s not much into character development and the story isn\'t all that deep, but that\'s not why you go to see this movie. If you\'ve seen many of Jason Statham\'s movies, then you know what to expect and he doesn\'t disappoint. I only gave it 4 stars because, well, it\'s going to take one great movie for action movie to get 5 stars.
this movie was great but there was too much action in it ,it was so fast some times it was hard to understand it. it was worth 5$ to see,
