Great Make up great acting, great cinamatogrophy. The story was not so great. It was very good but not great or even that curious. It was Forrest Gump in reverse. If you loved Forrest Gump you will like Benjamin Button. Its a long movie and there can't be a sequel so go and enjoy but don't expect anything you haven't alrerady seen.

An amazing movie-excellent story line, not the least bit corny, thought-provoking. Beautiful-each part of the story cleverly intertwines into the rest of the story. This is definately a movie that is worth seeing. This is a typical F. Scott Fitzgerald work of brilliance-powerful, emotional. Sure to win best picture, as mentioned below.

I enjoyed the story...what a beautiful story and it was extremely well told. I admit it was a bit long but it kept me interested especially the acting of Pitt and Cate. I think she stole the show but Pitt showed so many sides to his talent. Lots of life lessons in this movie which were told with remarkable wit and tenderness. I would recommend it to all. The gift of time is all we really have.

You will either get this movie or not, and the reviews on this site reflect this. In my humble opinion, it was warm, funny and moving. Don't be put off by the long run time. It goes by fast. Brad Pitt gives one of the best performances of his career, and Cate Blanchett is as brilliant as always. I have recommended this film to everyone.

I wanted to like this movie. I like Kate Blanchett and Brad Pitt and Tilda Swinton. I like F. Scott Fitzgerald. I have enjoyed other films by David Fincher.
    But.
I found Benjamin Button to be an utterly bland, absolutely predictable, completely empty exercise. It reminded me of all the things I disliked about Forrest Gump, and all the things I hated about Titanic. My one word revies: ick.

Outstanding movie for college level viewers. Although there are some nice action and a few racy scenes, it is a "thinking person's" movie. I loved both male and female actors. The male's slow, southern style of portrayal of Benjamin's personality was delightful. The ladies are pretty, talented, realistic. Well done.

A LOOOONG glacial-paced, tedious bore. An infinite number of non-stop, cliche-ridden and superfluous scenes that go nowhere. This guy's age is reversing and all the performances around this are totally unquestioning like "hey, I see this all the time...nothing unusual here".
If you go see this movie, bring your camping equipment and an extra supply of NO-DOZ.

Wow, this is really a letdown from director David Fincher. It’s the kind of movie that screams “gives us Oscars, we’re important,” but it just isn’t remarkable or powerful enough to make you feel like it really deserves them. Stylistically, it’s pretty flawless with great make-up and effects to convey the weird story of Benjamin Button, the backwards-aging wonder.

But there are big problems with this film. First, the “look at what a great movie we made” aspect does not let up. The effects are the star here at lot of the time; I spent more time thinking about how they made Brad Pitt look that way at certain points than I did about the story, and it pulled me right out of the movie. It’s not that there aren’t interesting parts to the story, and touching moments, but the story did get stale. That brings up the second problem: this is a big “message” movie, and we all get the message right away: life is precious, don’t let it slip away. (Most of us can probably figure it out once we hear the concept, anyway.) But “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” ultimately just sort of hammers it unnecessarily.

Which leads to the third problem: this movie is just. Too. Long. Fincher is a talented director, but it's time for him to get back to the basics!
