This movie is basically a doc**entary, but even at that it never clearly identifies what the virus is - leaves a lot of questions open. Great cast of actors, but as good as they are (in previous movies) they all seemed like amateurs. I think this must be because of poor directing. I found myself daydreaming during this film - it really was not that engaging. Don't waste your money on this movie. If you still want to watch it, Red Box it.

This is one of the best ensemble cast films I have seen in a long time. It is also one of the best pandemic films I have seem in a while. I can’t believe Steven Soderberg (director) was able to make such a good movie with so many top tier actors and actresses. It seemed like each one of them was very aware that the movie wasn’t about them but rather the movie was about the movie. Does that make sense? Contagion is about a pandemic that happens and no one knows what to do. A virus spreads that there is no cure for. The one thing I would have liked to see in the movie is a little bit more extremes. The movie didn’t really have any big “wow” scenes, which made it very real but at the same time left me wanting a little more. Still a very great movie.

This film was very different from all over “all killing virus” movies that I have seen before. I actually really liked it because it focused on the virus instead of the characters and their personal stories. The film was very realistic and there was no over-exaggerated drama or unnecessary subplots, it was straightforward and pretty scary. There are a lot of great actors in this film and they all do a really good job. The only character that I was not sure about was Jude Law, I did not really understand the purpose of giving this character really bad teeth and the film could have done without him all together.

This movie was great. It had so many stars in it each playing a great role. Some of the celebs I remember are Matt Damon, Lawrence Fishburne, Gwenith Paltrow (for a very short period of time) and more. All of them had important roles in the movie and none of them really felt like the “main star.” The movie revolves around a new strain of virus that breaks out that seemingly is impossible to cure. I won’t give too much away but the movie really shows what would happen if something as serious as this occurred. The main thing I would mention about Contagion is how real it felt. The realness of the movie is what really made it scary. This type of thing is 100 times more scary than any horror movie because it can really happen. Overall great movie.

Contagion was an excellent movie! This was definitely the most realistic virus movie I have seen in a very long time. Nothing about the movie screamed “the is a movie.” The entire thing felt so real and it was very scary. Another thing I noticed is that all of the famous actors in the movie all had minor roles. It was very weird, there was no “main character.” Matt Damon I was expecting to be the main, but he wasn’t. Then I thought it would be Lawrence Fishburne, but it wasn’t. I kept wanting something to peak but it just didn’t. And you know what, it make for such a great movie. The film was shot well, executed well and I walked out of the film not wanting to touch anything! The movie did its part.

I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. I think it is the best film about an epidemic that I have ever seen. I like that the director did not make this film all about the characters, he made it all about the virus and the destructive events that follow it. I could not decide if the film is a thriller or a drama but it was good nonetheless. The director shows that the human nature is flawed and in the same time we are capable of great things, it is a very rounded film. The film is very chilling because it clearly shows that it can easily happen and it is shown in a very realistic way. Overall, i think you will not regret seeing this film in the theaters.

I really liked this film but I definitely did not feel good after seeing it, it is very realistic and it reminds the audience that this can easily happen right now and there is nothing we can do about it. I have to admit that the film affected me quite a bit and I definitely use more of Purell, it is not a happy movie and I felt a bit depressed after it. The film is full of great stars and I really enjoyed everybody’s performance, I did think that the characters could have been developed more, otherwise the acting was great.

This is an action/thriller that is directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Matt Damon, Kate Winslet and Jude Law. I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was scary and alarming, it made me think and wonder and i love when movies are able to move me this way. The film is very realistic and that is definitely the scariest part about it, it could easily happen and there is almost nothing we can do to stop the virus from spreading in our new interconnected world. The film has a star cast and they perform very well, just as expected.

Contagion is just a movie. At least, that's what I had to keep reminding myself. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, who has a way of making big budget films look like independent films or, in this case, doc**entaries, Contagion follows a virus as it makes its way around the world, killing millions.
The film starts with a cough, then the death of one of its major stars. The film uses her death as a jumping off point to follow the stories of numerous people involved in trying to solve the mystery of the virus, or just understand it, as it makes its way around the world. These people include her husband, doctors, scientists, officials at the CDC, and even a panic stoking blogger. But this isn't your Roland Emmerich end of the world flashy kind of film. Soderbergh makes movies for adults, and respects our intelligence enough of the time to know that sometimes knowledge is scarier than seeing people drop dead all over the place.
The film does have issues keeping all of its strands interesting. When you have this many stories, it's hard to keep them all going, especially when you have to jump back and forth all of the time. But when the subject matter is this unsettling, the performances overall excellent, and the film making this solid, the overall experience is really good. And when you hear someone cough in the back of the theater, it will definitely get you a little jumpy.
