This is a post-Civil War drama by Robert Redford, starring Evan Rachel Wood, James McAvoy, Alexis Bledel, Robin Wright, Justin Long, Tom Wilkinson, and Kevin Kline. I really liked this film because the story was very straightforward and clear. The film is also blessed with amazing actors that know their craft very well and develop and portray their characters perfectly. The main message of the film, in my opinion, is that history repeats itself and it was made very clear and loud in this film. James McAvoy is one of my most favourite actors of all times and he was absolutely amazing in this film, I hope he will be soon recognized and awarded for his talent. Overall, the film is very interesting and intense and i highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. -
This is a history drama that is directed by Robert Redford and stars Robin Wright Penn, James McAvoy, and Tom Wilkinson. I felt that the film was too heavy and even though it is very educational it did not arouse an interest in me. The film has a high production value and it is beautifully shot. The film was quite boring at times and I feel kind of bad saying it because I know it is supposed to be educational and intellectual. The cast in this film is very strong and James Mcavoy is superb in his complex role. Robin Wright Penn is very good as well. Overall, the film was alright but it is not my kind of movie.
