This is a black comedy and i usually do not like this genre but this film was alright even though it got a bit too sad for my taste. The film is about the insanity of war and it is not an easy subject to make fun of especially in a place like Bosnia and Herzegovina where the film is set. The film felt a bit old-fashioned but i did not mind that and it was interesting for me to see post-communist society portrayed on the big screen it reminded me how things were right after the communist regime fell. I found this film to be quite political and i usually do not like that but it made sense for this film and i like the way the director told the story.
This is a drama set in in the former Yugoslavia and centered on a guy who returns to Herzegovina with a lot of cash and hopes for a new life, the film is directed by Danis Tanovic and stars Miki Manojlovic, Mira Furlan and Boris Ler. I did not really like this film and I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters. the film was kind of boring and weird and old-fashioned but not in a good way. The film felt scattered and chaotic and even though some scenes were great the whole thing was not good and not cohesive. I felt that the script was overwritten and the actors had a hard time wit this material and it was very evident.
