I'm surprised to see all the high ratings of the other reviews. I had to walk out after the first 10 minutes of the movie due to poor & amateur photography by one of the heros filming the movie. It was like getting car sick if you continue watching. I didn't think it would end and still had time to watch another movie. I'm glad I did too. I am not a film maker but I could have done a better job filming the first ten minutes I saw. Low Budget Movie! No Thanks.

This entire film was obviously inspired from the fight scene between Will Smith and Charlize Theron in HANc***. Sure, CHRONICLE has some John Hughes-ish moments covering the teenage angst/outsider issues, high school crushes, hero-for-a--day scenarios, etc. but it just seems to lack substance needed to win big at the box office.

The "found footage" aspect, as it has come to be called, somehow justifies the film's title and the camera motif within the film (somewhat) subtly explains how the director gets away with showing many sequences of the film from multiple camera angles. This was kind a of neat scripting trick for which the creator(s) deserve some kudos The acting and character development was also surprisingly acceptable for a film of this genre...

Overall, however, CHRONICLE fails to hit the mark as a memorable motion picture; it's certainly not one to add to your home collection. If you must see it, catch it on the Big Screen--theatre sound will add a redeeming quality which will undoubtedly be lacking at home, with the exception of a select lucky few who have a thousand-dollar sound system to back it up.

I had very low expectations for this film and I was very pleasantly surprised with it. My friend really wanted to see this film and i was very sceptical because the preview kind of sucked. However, the film was very entertaining and fun to watch and even though it had “found footage” concept i had a good time watching it. I think the film was original and creative, I am not sure why the director decided to put “found footage” aspect in the film but that was the only thing wrong with it and otherwise I was highly entertained. The characters in the film are very well developed and the actors did a great job with their roles, I thought they had a good chemistry together and were very interesting as individuals as well. Overall, I think this film is worth seeing in the theaters.

I am surprised to say that i liked this movie and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. I found this film to be quite clever and fun to watch as well. i like that the director chose a cast that is not known and i have to say that the boys did a great job with their roles. I usually hate those “found footage” films but this one did not bother me. I thought the film was pretty original and it will appeal not only to a younger audience but also to an older one. I found this film to be an interesting character study and I love the way each character is different and similar in the same time. Overall, I think this film is worth your money and time and you will have a good time watching it.

I am surprised that I liked this film and I am even more surprised to say that I recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was very entertaining and creative, I could have done without the found footage aspect of it but everything else was great and I had a good time watching it. I thought the director put an interesting spin on superhero origin story and it is not easy to do because it ha been done so many times before. I like the questions that the film raises and I think it will appeal not only to teenagers but a bit older audience as well. I was very much entertained by this movie and I definitely think that it is worth seeing in the theaters.

This film was not bad at all and if you want to see a sci-fi movie in the theaters I think this film would be a good choice. I usually do not like these kind of films with the found footage spin but this movie felt different and I enjoyed watching it. There are many very exciting moments in the film and it is also very interesting so you will not be bored that is for sure. The film is very engaging because it has themes that are relatable and philosophical and it has pretty awesome CGI as well, so everybody can find something to like about this film. I think the cast did a good job as well and I liked that the director chose non-famous leads.

This is sci-fi drama about a group of teenagers who gain superpowers and discover their darker side, the film is directed by Josh Trank and stars Michael B. Jordan, Michael Kelly and Alex Russell. I was really surprised by this film and i highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. I thought I will not like this movie at all but my girlfriend was dying to see so i gave in and i am happy I did. The film was very interesting, it had great themes and it had some amazing surprises, i was hooked and I think a lot of people will be as well. The film can be a bit sad and even scary at times and what I loved the most about this film is that all the characters are believable and I could relate to them as well. Overall, it is a great film and I suggest you see it for yourself.

I'm really not a fan of the found-footage genre, as I've always felt the gimmick was more important than the story or the characters that inhabit the films. That's why Chronicle took me by surprise. It still falls into some of the same pits as other found-footage films, but this one actually has a story and characters that I was interested in. Three teenagers, video camera in tow, find a hole in the middle of a forest. After going into this hole, they find they have powers, allowing them to do things like move things with their mind and fly. It's all a lot of fun, until they start to overuse their powers. Unlike a lot of other films in this genre, director John Trank and writer Max Landis give these kids some real world problems. They're teens, so they have crushes on girls and issues with popularity. One of the teens has an alcoholic father and a dying mother, and it's interesting to see how these issue affect his use of his new superpowers. Trank does a good job of making the found-footage seem less like a gimmick and more like a part of the story as well. He's found a way to have multiple angles and views on the same scene, which is something new. It's nothing groundbreaking, but Chronicle does inject some life into the genre.
