Certifiably Jonathan Movie Reviews

This is a mockumentary about a great comedian Johnathan Winters. I was really disappointed with this film because I absolutely adore Winters and I wish a decent doc**entary was made about him. This film started out great and then took a turn that was very odd and simply not funny or interesting. The film is full of great comedians like Sarah Silverman, Howie Mandel, Nora Dunn, Jim Carrey, tim Conway and others but they do not lift this film up and in my opinion it was just waste of their time. Robin Williams was also in this film and he is my favourite actor/comedian and that was the only enjoyable moment of this otherwise dull movie.
The movie has some really good moments, I mean how can it not when the subject is such a great comedian like Jonathan Winters, but it is definitely not a great movie. Director James David Pasternak follows Winters through some rough times and then the film takes a weird turn and becomes a little bit insane. In my opinion the movie kind of reduces Jonathan’s sphere of influence, I mean the guy inspired such great comedians as Robin Williams, Howie Mandel, Jim Carrey, Robert Klein, Sara Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel. I am a big fan of Jonathan Winters and I really think that he deserves a better doc**entary. I think that the film was too messy and definitely incomplete, I wish the director went different way with this doc**entary and had more footage of Winters doing what he does best: making people laugh. Overall, I would suggest staying home and waiting for a better doc**entary about this amazing comedian.
This is a doc**entary about a wonderful comedian Jonathan Winters. I am a huge fan of Jonathan Winters and I expected so much from this film. To my disappointment the movie was not good. I would say it was a mockumentary and it failed to show the brilliance and the lasting influence that Jonathan Winters has. Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Sarah Silverman, Howie Mandel made appearances in the film, but in my opinion it was a waste and it did not make the movie any better. I have to admit that I did enjoy watching Robin Williams and Winters chatting together, but it did not make up for the rest. The film had a completely stupid faux-real situation, that was awkard and not funny. I wish there was more footage about his early television appearances, instead film was focused on Winter’s obsession with painting. Only enjoyable moments of this movie were with Jonathan Winters himself, who is still so funny and adorable. He saved this movie from being a total disaster.
