User reviews on Captain America: The First Avenger
The was an AWESOME MOVIE.
It wasn't raunchy.
There's a lil sexual tension between CA and the Lead Actress but, it's love not lust.
The writing was superb. Stan Lee should be proud.
You'll love this movie.
It looks great.
It leaves you satisfied.
And You'll smile, cringe, cry, and root all within the same time frame.
That's what great movies do.
action was was weak i fell asleep half way through big disappointment
I really liked this film and I suggest seeing it in the theaters because it is entertaining and fun. I am not a fan of comic books and I have never read “Captain America” but I still had a blast watching this film. The movie is perfect for the summer because it is light, the acting is great and the visual effects are subtle and work well in this film. The film is not very original but it feels fresh enough and it does not recycle too many old ideas. I really like that the main character is an underdog and in the end he becomes a hero, I can relate to that.
this is the sorriest movie theater I have ever had to deal with. I was on the phone for 15 minutes just to find out what time the movie was showing....!! I had to listen to a list of ads to get the information I needed...! I will wait until it comes out on CD before I ever go to another movie that is supported by faindingo....!!! You people suck...!!!
resume help I do not really like this movie
Great movie--watch carefully as the plot is not as simplistic as it seems. I went to see it with family, and it was not my choice of films to see, but it turned out to be spellbinding. Lots of action; not just for guys and kids!
I really liked this film and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was super fun to watch and it was kind of old-fashioned and I really liked that about it. It had a hero that was an underdog before and i think a lot of people could relate to the character. I also really enjoyed watching Nazis being bad guys again, they are the best villains and it was fun to see them being killed. The film is also really cool visually and has great special effects that do not overwhelm the film. Overall, I think this film was great and i had fun watching it.
I liked this film and i recommend seeing it in the theaters because it is entertaining and interesting. i liked how the film looked visually and the action scenes were totally awesome. The message of the film is interesting but it is not very original, I still liked that the film was trying to say something and it was not just about explosions and action scenes. The acting in the film was great and i think the movie was casted very well. The dialogue in the film was not very good but everything else worked for me. Overall, I had a great time watching this film.
This is a film based on a comic book, it is directed by Joe Johnston and starring Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving and Samuel L. Jackson. I really liked how the film looks visually and it kind of felt old-fashioned and I really liked it. Visually the film is absolutely perfect and the costumes and the lighting were really amazing. The film is full of action and you will definitely not be bored while watching it. I liked the story and the acting in the film was great. Overall, I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters.
Before I actually saw Captain America, I would have subtitled it The Lamest Avenger. Really, what is Captain America other than a dude with a big shield? What kind of hero is that? Oh, Joe Johnston, you have shown me the error of my ways. Captain America is one of the best comic book films this year. It's a lot of fun, even when it's taking itself seriously, and it does that often, which makes it a lot different from most comic book films.
Evans plays Steve Rogers, a scrawny guy too weak to get into the Army, but his heart get him into an experiment where some blue serum turns him into a muscle bound hero. This is done through CGI, making Evans go from a weakling to a super dude. But it's never done to wow anyone; it just goes to service the story. In fact, that's what makes the movie so good. None of this stuff is ever done to blow us away or bash us over the head (I'm talking to you, Michael Bay).
The acting in the film is uniformly excellent, from Evans to his nemesis Hugo Weaving. Johnston make the film seem retro, without it being stuffy. He takes his time with the story, but never makes it boring or making the audience feel like it's going to take forever to get through the origin of the character. The story does try a little too hard to bring the Captain into the story of The Avengers, of which he'll be a part of in next year's movie. But that's a minor quibble. Just go and enjoy this movie.
