Burke and Hare Movie Reviews

This film does not work as a dark comedy, it is not funny enough and way too dark, therefore where director expected laughs, there are uncomfortable silences. It is sad to say because the film has an amazing cast and really good story, unfortunately it was not translated well onto the big screen. The film has way too much killing scenes and way too little laughter, I almost felt uncomfortable. You can tell that the cast was enjoying themselves and they did a great job with their roles but the film lacked wit and energy and that was the biggest flaw. Overall, i do not recommend seeing this film in the theaters because you will not have a good time.
This is a black comedy about grave robbers that is set in 19th century, the film is directed by John Landis and stars Bill Bailey, Tom Wilkinson and Michael Smiley. I usually really like periodic movies and I liked this one for the clothes and the landscapes but not for the story unfortunately. The film was not really funny either and I do not know why it is labeled as a black comedy, there is not a lot of comedy or blackness in it. The film is never really scary but it is creepy most of the time. The film is till beautiful visually and the main actors do a great job, however it never emerges above mediocre. I was pleasantly surprised by Andy Serkis, who played Golumn in the Lord of the Rings, in this film he proves that he can act very well.
This is a black comedy that is set in the 19th century, the film is directed by John Landis and stars Bill Bailey, Tom Wilkinson and Michael Smiley. I did not like this film and I do not recommend seeing this film in the theaters. I love period movies, they usually help me escape and enjoy the beautiful clothes and landscapes, this film was no different, it was beautiful but had absolutely no story and the characters were not developed. The film was supposed to be a comedy but it was not funny because the killings were way too real and brutal. Overall, it was not funny and not interesting and I regret seeing it.
