I just saw this movie and it bears absolutely no resemblance to the book by the same name. I think they title is deceiving.
The character actors in the movie were superb.
The action was too over done, too fast and the music very intrusive.
I think the story was also shabby and shallow.
This movie seems to me to be almost a mockery of Ludlume"s expert storytelling.

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it would be disappointing without Matt Damon but that was not the case. I like that this one took a different approach and wasn't just a replay of the last few. The only part I didn't like and that was the end. I thought it was too abrupt, didn't see it coming.

I liked the original three movies with Matt Damon, but this one was just too confusing. It starts where the last movie left off but then it becomes this weird goose chase about yellow and blue pills. Jeremy Renner is really good in the lead and I can see why the cast him: he has an intensity and a vulnerability at the same time, just like Matt Damon did. I also loved him in Katheryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker though in this movie he gives a much more subtle performance. I also really liked Rachel Weisz as the scientist with the answers but I didn't like how she just went along with everything she was told to do. Too wishy washy for 2012. The best part of the movie I thought were all the foreign locales the movie was shot in. It seemed so picturesque and yet gritty at the same time. These settings really helped give the movie dimensions that even someone like me who doesn't like action movies and only goes to supervise my kids who love them. It's good, but not great.

Imagine the James Bond franchise without Daniel Craig. Easy, right, cuz there have been like a half dozen other more dashing and debonair 007's for the last fifty years. That's why I didn't get why so many people were so opposed to Jeremy Renner taking over this franchise from Matt Damon. Yes, Damon will always be the definitive Bourne, but Renner isn't playing the same character, he's just taking a different tack with a totally different hero to make the franchise more interesting. To be honest, I thought this movie had too much plot but the acting saved it from getting too heavy and too bizarre. Rachel Weisz is really the star of the movie I thought with a truly spectacular performance. I just wanted to watch her the whole time (and not just because she is so beautiful). It was also awesome to see so many foreign locales in the movie, especially Manila, which has been lovingly photographed by the cinematographer. I hope there are a few sequels, this one was awesome!

I do not think this film is worth seeing in the theaters but renting it and seeing it at home might be fun. I am a big fan of the series and I agree with Paul Greengrass who directed all of the films except this one, that three films was quite enough. I mean there are still great action and plenty of lies and plot twists in the film but it is not as good or fresh as in the previous films. I do have to say that Jeremy Renner is great in this film and he added some complexity and depth to the character but he is no Matt Damon and I really hate to say that. I also thought that Renner and Weiz had absolutely no chemistry and it was hard to believe in their on-screen romance. Overall, the film is not bad but it is not worth the price of the movie ticket.

I thought this film was quite good and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was full of great action, interesting plot twists and amazing actors that elevated this film. A lot of people thought that after the series lost Matt Damon it will never be as good but in my opinion it is not true and Jeremy Renner did an amazing job as Bourne. I also admire Rachel Weiz and she was a great addition to the series. However, I did think that Weiz and Renner did not have a good chemistry on-screen but that is a minor thing and can be fixed by choosing a different leading lady.

I liked this film and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters. I am a big fan of Bourne series and I was really scared that the series will end without Damon. However, I thought that Jeremy Renner did a great job with the role and he also added more complexity to the character which I really liked. The film is full of amazing action and plot twist, although some of the twists were a bit confusing and I was kind of lost. I do have to say that the film is a bit chaotic but I still had loads of fun watching it and I suggest you see it as well.

There’s a lot to admire in the fourth installment of the Bourne franchise, but then again, there’s a lot that’s left to be desired. The new film, which sees Jeremy Renner taking over the lead role played by Matt Damon in the original trilogy, begins where the climax left off in 2007?s The Bourne Ultimatum. It all makes perfect sense for the first half hour or so. And then things get muddled. Very muddled. So muddled that you wonder why they didn’t just split the movie into two separate halves as studios are so wont to do these days.
Aaron Cross (Renner) is scouted by CIA manager Eric Byer (Edward Norton) as an undercover operative to help carry out a mission that involves green and blue pills that are being used to kill an army of Bourne-like government killers. Cross has to swap the blue and green pills for the poisonous yellow ones. Of course, Cross himself is addicted to the blue and green pills. Hey, if James Bond can enjoy a martini every hour on the hour, why shouldn’t Cross have his own dependency issues?
Cross kidnaps a genetic scientist named Dr. Marta Shearing (Rachel Weisz) who knows how to make the pills and thus begins the globe-trotting adventure that goes from Chicago and New York to Seoul, Karachi, and Manila.
To be honest, there’s so much backstory here that to even try to explain the plot would take up more bandwidth than I am allowed by my editors. Suffice is to say, the action scenes are marvelously executed and the acting is first rate. It’s the sheer weight of the screenwriter’s ambitions that ultimately bogs down the film. The old adage that ‘less is more’ would certainly have helped them infinitely if applied to this franchise relaunch. I wonder if there will be another one.
