Blue Jasmine - Jasmine has everyone fooled that she has class, until she is forced to take refuge in her sister's home when her "perfect world" comes crashing down upon her. Jasmine can't hide her vanity, selfishness and drunkenness while she plays out her endgame of using people. As in all Woody Allen films, fate is never kind to those who can't love, and this sister from hell ends up trapped in her own web of deceit. Jasmine plays against her much-maligned sister, who triumphs in love and truth, while Jasmine's fate is to deceive only herself.

I was really excited to see this film and my expectation were pretty high and I am glad to say that I was not disappointed at all. I thought that Woody Allen was done with drama and he will only be doing silly comedies from now on and I am so glad to say that I was wrong. The film had a perfect balance between drama and dark comedy and the cast was absolutely amazing. Cate Blanchett gave the best performance of her life and i think that she should get an Oscar for it because it was simply phenomenal. Overall, it is a wonderful film about a woman whose life was turned upside down and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters.

I absolutely loved this film and highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. Even though the film was a bit uneven, I still had an absolutely wonderful time watching it and Woody Allen surprised me one more time. The film is powerful emotionally and it greatly benefits from an amazing supporting cast and superb lead performance by Cate Blanchett. The movie has a great balance between comedy and pathos and I think this film puts Woody Allen on top once again. I found this film to be deeply compelling, darkly comic, and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters.

I agree with almost everything the first reviewer wrote. The acting was terrific, particularly Cate Blanchett, but I thought everyone nailed their roles. The 2 stars is because I was not entertained. I thought the movie was sad and depressing (actors sold their roles). I see films to be entertained, and this one didn't do it for me despite the great acting.

The reviewer in Westword panned "Blue Jasmine." He said, "It was a bad day."

Don't you believe it. This movie is 4 stars, no more and no less. Go and see this film. Have I seen a better film this year? Yes, but only one: a French movie called, "Amour," was better (5 stars).

Go see this film. Give Woody Allen your money, and it's a good thing Westword is free--because if it weren't, I cancel my subscription.

I loved loved loved this film and I definitely think it is worth seeing in the theater. I am a big fan of Woody Allen’s films but this one was not his typical movie and I still liked it very much. Cate Blanchett was wonderfully neurotic and she nailed this role, she is such a wonderful actress. The film was funny and tragic in the same time and the balance was perfect, i think it is my new favorite Woody Allen’s film. The cast of the film was amazing and I really enjoyed Andrew Dice Clay’s performance as well. Overall, it is a great film with a great cast and I recommend you do not miss it.
