I was really really excited to see this film and my hopes were very high and I guess they shouldn’t have been because I left the theater quite disappointed. The film did look beautiful visually and I loved that but the makers of this film were not able to capture Kerouac’s prose and his state of mind whatsoever. The characters are not developed at all and nothing really happens in this film, therefore I see no point in recommending to see it. I found the film to be extremely bobring and pretentious in many ways and that is a big minus in my book. I did enjoy the performances of Mitchell, Fischler and especially Lucas, however, Barr was pretty horrible and never really captured the character of Kerouac.
