Fantastic visual.. very little gap with reality. Story line is very fictional. Overall a good see. The Angelina copy is very good. Some of the action scenes are.. well WOW ! The iMAX experience is a must SEE.

Good animation and plot. Hard to understand at first if you know nothing about it. The best part was the credit song "A Hero Comes Home" by Idina Menzel! Idina is AWESOME!

After I saw this movie all i could think was "did they want me to take this seriously" i found it more humorous than serious action film...

I walked into the theater not even knowing this was going to be an animated movie. I am not one for cartoons, usually. But this movie had my attention from the start. The animation was amazing. Sometimes I almost forgot it even was animated. The characters: Hopkins, Malcovich, Jolie, it was really them. It seemed real to me, but the camera angles they were able to create would be impossible in reality, so I found it an amazing mix of the real world and the cartoon world. The story was pretty good- I never read the book before- but I mostly enjoyed the movie for its artistic value.

If you are into english literature, have read the story in high school at sometime then this is a got-to-see, but if you are not quite sure what this story is about and are a 300, Troy, or Gladiator lover then don't see this because it will be a let down. The plot is mostly like the actually story except for some things, and as far as taking your children to see this, dont! Considering I love literautre I rate this a 4/5

I never have understood why studios waste so much money. This movie was just made in 2005 by Sturla Gunnarsson and Gerard Butler did a fantastic job as Beowulf. Wait a few years inbetween remaking a movie that was already done extreemly well. Especially if the new one was not.

Animation rocks!! I have a 9 year old son so I am pretty up to date on animated films. I thought Shreck the Third had the greatest cg animation I had ever seen. That was until I saw Beowulf. Who cares about all that motion capture talk. This movie just rocks.

the action was incredible. if you liked 300 or troy, you'll like this very much.

The monster, Grendel, is amazing in his fierceness and interestingly believeable 'role.' Almost as if he were human, which could be the same epitaph as the mother of Grendel. Angelina would move like this in your dreams, not in animation. OK, but not quite perfect personalities. But the movie really does help bring alive a long, sometimes boring, poem from early, early christian period. I like the sexiness of the women in it, both Jolie and Wright, and they play important parts of the poem.

If you don't like animation, don't go, but it's pretty amazing what they are able to do these days. Y

Well, I was expecting something a bit different. I was surprised it was a CGI creation that wasn't quite that good.

They had the characters outside in frosty, snowy weather yet no vapors coming from their mouths when they spoke or supposedly breathed.

Wh en Beowulf rose from the water he was perfectly dry.

The sexual overtones were way out of line for a PG13 movie, but at least there was no profanity.

T he story line left a lot of the original Beowulf story out. It gives a good synopsis of the story.

I recommend reading the legend of Beowulf first.

I left the theater wondering WHO they made this film for. They didn't make it for children as there was too much gore and nudity. I heard it reported that Angelina called Brad after seeing herself on screen and felt she was so exposed she didn't want their children to see the film. They didn't make it for adults as the story line was too simple and the animation could have been lost to suit the taste of most adults. Maybe they made it so we could see just how tempting Angelina really is, yea that's it all makes sense;~)
