Battleship Potemkin directed by Grigori Aleksandrov and Sergei Einstein is a film based on the historical events. I thought that the movie was to dry and not climatic enough. The scenes were too dragged out and eventually became boring. I can not deny that visually the film was spectacular. Because there is no sound during the movie you are forced to look for clues and meanings in the picture. I really enjoyed that part and could not wait to talk with my friend about her view of the movie. The images of this film were very powerful and emotional. I have never seen a silent film before and I was very impressed. One definitely has to think more and interpret more while watching a silent movie. I really enjoyed watching this film and I do recommend seeing it. However, if you can not focus very well and do not have a lot of patience, you might fall asleep.
