This is a Cold War thriller about a Berlin doctor Barbara, played by Nina Hoss-in, who is banished to a rural East Germany hospital as a punishment for applying for an exit visa. As she plots her escape, Barbara finds herself falling in love with a local physician Andre (Ronald Zehrfeld, but she can never fully trust him because he might be a spy. I absolutely loved this film and highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film has a very distinct atmosphere that is saturated with suspicion and fear and I loved every minute of it. The film is incredibly suspenseful and it is acted superbly, Hoss is one of the best actresses I have ever seen and it is a true pleasure to watch her make do her thing. The film is wise and very well made, it is a film that will stay on your mind for a very long time.
