August: Osage County Movie Reviews

Its an amazing film, when I see this many stars in a film its not very good, but everyone brought their A game and its a great story. Maybe if your 77 and only seen two movies you might not like it, I see two or three films a week of all kinds and I thought this was academy award material.
I was excited to see this film since it was about Oklahoma. I'm 77
years old and have seen a lot of movies. This is only the second one that I have walked out on. YES, it is that BAD!
i HAD TO GIVE IT ONE STAR TO POST THIS REVIEW, BUT I REALLY GIVE IT NO STARS.
Overacted and a mundane premise that's been visited over and over again.. dysfunctional family, southern stereotypes. Some people left early.
My friend really wanted to see this film and I caved. I am glad I did, because I thought this film was very good and I recommend seeing it in the theater. I have seen this story about a dysfunctional family before, however, I have never seen it told so well or acted so superbly. Julia Roberts was amazing in this movie and I was very impressed with her performance, Streep was great as usual but I think Roberts was better. The film was quite intense and I felt a bit drained afterward, but it definitely made me think that my crazy family is not that crazy afterall. Overall, the film is written and acted beautifully and I recommend seeing it on the big screen.
I was excited to see this film and I am glad to say that I really enjoyed watching it. The film is all about acting and the acting in this movie is simply remarkable. The story is good and interesting but it does not tell anything new really, however the superb cast makes it all worth while. It is an intense film about a very dysfunctional family and I have to say that I was relieved afterwards that I don’t have to see it’s downfall anymore. I do think that the film would have worked better on the stage but I still think it’s worth seeing on the big screen. Julia Roberts is absolutely wonderful in this film and I think even surpasses Streep, if that is humanly possible…
