Very cute and not a lot better than I anticipated. Even worth buying when it comes out on DVD which is exactly what I plan to do.
This was a really sweet film and I loved watching it with my family. I have missed animations just like this one, it made me feel good and it was interesting as well. The film is suitable for children and for adults, kids will enjoy the action and the characters and the adults will love witty dialogue and interesting script. The film was really funny and the ideas felt fresh and original and that is not easy to do these days. Overall, I had a great time watching this film, it is a great movie for the Holidays.
I really enjoyed watching this film and I recommend seeing it in the theaters because it is fun, original and it looks amazing. I took my niece and my nephew to see this film and we all had a blast, I was laughing out loud during the film and it is extremely rare these days, especially for an animated film. The film is not only really funny and original, it is also endearing. The film is spectacular visually and has really good dialogue and I think that it is a strong contender for Oscars. Overall, this is a great film for the whole family.
I thought that the film was cute but definitely not as good as the previous films. The film looked absolutely amazing, there is no doubt about it but it lacked the charm that the previous film was full off. The first 40 minutes of the film it was hard to understand where the film was going, I think that the filmmakers did not know themselves where the film was going. I liked it much more when Mumble was little, he is all grown up in this film and I have to say much less fun as well. Anyway, the kids will still love this film but the adults will be quite disappointed.
Another animated family Christmas film? Absolutely, if it's being made by Aardman, the studio that created Wallace & Gromit. Arthur Christmas is a zany, chaotic movie that has a definite British sensibility, but that doesn't mean it won't be funny to us here in the US. Because it is a very funny movie.
Arthur is the dopey younger son of Santa Claus, who is preparing to retire and pass down the mantle to his older son Steve, who runs the operation with military precision and a stealth, spaceship like sled. When a little girl doesn't get her bike from the jolly old man for Christmas and Steve brushes it off, Arthur takes it upon himself to deliver the gift with the help of his Grandsanta and the old, reindeer drawn sled, leading him on a manic adventure around the world.
There's a lot of great bits and throwaway lines in this movie, the biggest of which is an elf with amazing gift wrapping capabilities. The voice work is excellent overall, including such greats as Hugh Laurie and the ridiculously hilarious Bill Nighy. The animation and storytelling are also excellent, hearkening back to Aardman's great past. It's a fun holiday movie that I enjoyed a lot.
