When I first heard about this new so-called "Amazing" Spider-Man, I (like a lot of gamers and comic book fans) was less than enthusiastic. Why do a reboot for a series that's not even five years old? Plus, when I heard that Andrew Garfield was gonna play Peter Parker, I was like "oh god no!" he's just another anorexic Hollywood pretty boy! But . . . I was wrong. I will admit that this is a really, truly great movie that was done much better than I think they had any right to do. They could have just done a generic reboot and made tons of movie and that would have been good enough (at least for the studio that made the movie) but they actually tried to do something different and the gamble really paid off. Garfield is great in his role and you'd never know that he was 28 years old playing a teenager or that he is British. He does a fantastic job and now I have to go back and watch Tobey Maguire to see which actor was better - you can't have it both ways, Spidey Lovers!

YAWN. Another summer, another superhero movie. I repeat: YAWN! Just kidding!! This is SUCH an awesome movie, especially for people like me who don't feel like we have to go see every single superhero or comic book movie that comes out every summer. I think the last one I actually saw was the second Batman with Christian Bale. All the rest didn't pique my interest, but this one sounded like it might be interesting and boy was I glad I gave into my crush on Andrew Garfield and paid the admission price. It's fun and exciting and gives a fresh spin on the story. Peter Parker is a goofy kid in this one who wants to learn what happened to his parents and why he was abandoned. It's actually quite touching and I am so glad they finally made an action superhero popcorn summer flick that's about more than just the special effects. And let me just say that Garfield plays the best Peter Parker ever - he's way more complex and introspective than any version I've seen.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I really don't get why they rebooted this franchise. Yes,superhero films are all the rage every summer and have been for about a decade now. But is that all there is that Hollywood has to offer? They can only wait five years before having to recycle their past successes? Are they really that creatively bankrupt? I guess the answer is yes.
This isn't a bad movie - not by a long shot. But films should only be remade if they improve upon the original in some substantial way. The only way I see this movie improving upon the last Spider-Man is in the CGI and special effects department. Technology advances so rapidly now that it's a given that the old Spider-Man will look dull and less exciting than this new one. But other than that, this so-called "Amazing" Spider-Man offers nothing new. It's old wine in a new bottle. And they're asking for an extra corkage fee!

As soon as I heard that there was going to be a new Spider-Man, I knew my kids were going to drag me to this movie - and boy am I glad that they did! This is a great movie, really well-made and with a touching story about a boy who wants to find the truth of who his real parents are. I wish every superhero movie was like this one - it has action and excitement but also a lot of romance and heartfelt scenes between the boy and his parents. Well, you'll excuse me when I say boy because I know that Andrew Garfield is is in his late 20s, but he looks *so* young it's shocking! Whatever he's doing, it's working. I also like the fact that he's dating his young co-star Emma Stone who seems like a very nice young girl. They're a lovely couple and their chemistry just makes the movie so much more enjoyable for the audience. If there's a sequel, I'll definitely take my kids that time!

I went to see this with all my siblings and my friends last night because, let's face it, it's the most hotly anticipated movie of the summer. Usually whatever they release on the fourth of July is THE movie of the summer. I guess I was just overwhelmed by my expectations because I thought it was good, but definitely not great. I have seen the original trilogy I grew up with starring Tobey Maguire who I think is perfect for the role. Andrew Garfield is good in the part, but because he has to act with an American accent I guess it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. He seems kind of stiff at times. Emma Stone is good in her role though she's really on;y there because every superhero has to have his Lois Lane. The movie is more about the story of Peter Parker's search for his parents than about his battle against the villain. A good movie, but not exactly great on any level.

My boyfriend and I went to see this movie last night when it opened at midnight and we were lucky enough to see it in 3D - in fact we loved it SO much that we immediately decided we had to see it again!!! It's literally the most amazing movie of the year you guys - you will just be overloaded with the power of the visuals and the story, the action and how they portray the inner anguish Peter Parker goes through to understand where he comes from and why he has to fight evil as the webbed crusader. Since I saw it first in 3D and we couldn't get tickets to the next showing, we had to see it at 3 am in non-3D format, which is still pretty great, though definitely nowhere near as amazing visually as seeing it in 3D. This is one of those movies that you just *have* to see in 3D or you won't be getting the full experience. We will probably see the movie again over the July 4th weekend, and then get it on DVd/Blu Ray when it comes out . . . no joke, we is OBSESSED!!! Love you, Spidey!

I did not think I will like this film but i had a decent time watching it and i think it is worth seeing in the theaters. The film is very charming, it is well made and well written and the cast is simply wonderful. The characters are well developed and highly likable and relatable and the action is awesome, i was on the edge of my seat. I think this franchise will live forever and there is no harm in that as long as the movies are as good as this one. Overall, I think this film is worth your time and money and it is a great summer film.

I really liked this film and highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. I was very doubtful about this film and my expectations were quite low but I had a great time watching it and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters. The film was very interesting, slick and it was emotionally involving and I honestly did not expect that. I thought that there is nothing new that can be said about Spider-Man but the filmmakers came up with something fresh and new and I really enjoyed watching it. Andrew Garfield did a great job with his role and definitely helped out this film a lot. Overall, I was very much entertained and I think it is worth seeing this film in the theaters.
