I honestly did not expect this film to be good at all. My boyfriend really wanted to see it because his friends loved it and I came along out of boredom. Anyway, the movie was surprisingly good, I say surprisingly because the whole film is about one man trying to survive. Robert Redford is really great in this film and I don’t think any other actor could have done a better job with this role (except Daniel Day Lewis). I think the film was executed very well and it looked, sounded and felt great. Overall, I had a good time watching this film, it was a real nerve wrecker.
I did not know what to expect going into this film. I knew that Robert Redford is a great actor and he can pull off pretty much anything but this is a hard film to pull off. Well, I am glad to say that Redford not only pulled it off but totally ruled this film and I was pretty much blown away by his performance. The film was also very well done and it is hard to believe that I am so impressed with a film that has no dialogue and absolutely no back story. Overall, this film will appeal to a very large audience and I hope that Robert Redford finally gets an Oscar for the Best Actor
There has really never been a cool movie about sailing that was not at least a little boring. (Wind anyone!) However, in this movie redford knocks it out of the park, although yes, it is a little boring at times. Still, what a fantastic performance.
I was not sure about this film, because it is about a guy on the boat for 107 minutes and that’s about it. Well, I am very glad I saw it because the film was incredible and I was glued to my seat for the whole running time. The film is incredibly tense, pure and moving. I don;t know how this film would be without the force that is Robert Redford. He is definitely taking an Oscar for best actor, he absolutely owned this movie. Overall, I highly recommend seeing this film in the theaters, I guarantee that you will be blown away
