I am a big fan of European history, especially the English monarchy. This was a very good movie in the sense of the scenery, costumes, backgrounds, and locations were absolutely incredible. The actors were perfectly cast in this film. Leopold of the Belgians looked almost exactly like the real Leopold. Rupert Friend looked IDENTICAL to the real Prince Albert if you look at paintings of the Prince as a young man. Very well cast. The one thing I didn't like was the abrupt ending of the film. I wish they had gone on just a few more minutes (maybe 20 more minutes) and told a little more of the story, maybe Prince Albert working on Osborne House on the Isle of Wight or something. Overall, very good movie.

I enjoy period pieces and found this movie a great diversion from a dreary winter day. The love story of Victoria and Albert is something special in history. Costumes and scenes are lovely. Any Anglo-file or history-buff or romantic will find this movie a wonderful change.
