According to Variety, Jaden Smith will be the next
Daniel-son in the remake of “The Karate Kid,” which is set to begin filming next
year. Surprisingly enough, the film will be produced by Overbrook
Entertainment, which is Will Smith (Jaden’s father), James Lassiter and Ken
Stovitz’s company. Jerry Weintraub (who launched the original franchise) is
also a producer. The script is being written by Chris Murphy and will be shot
