Sexiest Movies of All Time

Submitted by akbarnali on October 13, 2010 – 10:10 pmNo Comment

The sexiest movies of all time is an easy list to compile since (let’s face it) there’s no shortage of sex and sexiness in the movies.  Filmgoers the world over have made a few films perennial favorites that have elevated certain actors and actresses to the position of sex symbols, in turn making their films among the sexiest movies of all time.  These are the five that we think deserve to be named the sexiest movies of all time.

Ghost

Who can forget Ghost?  Apart from Whoopi Goldberg’s Oscar winning and scene-stealing performance as a psychic medium, the most unforgettable thing about Ghost is the sexy scene between Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze seated together behind a pottery spindle that entices them to express their carnal passion for one another with Unchained Melody playing in the background.  You know exactly the scene we are talking about because it is probably the most seductive and sensuous scene filmed in Hollywood history!

Basic Instinct

Starring Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas, Basic Instinct is a sexy time for the guys in the audience.  Featuring that famous interrogation scene between Douglas and Stone where she seems to reveal more than perhaps a lady should reveal, the film depicts Stone as a calculating but sexy novelist who is suspected of having killed a rock star during sex.  When the game between cat and mouse turns physical, more bodies are found, leading the now ensnared detective to question his own motives and whether the object of his lust is really capable of murder.

Body Heat

Body Heat stars Kathleen Turner and William Hurt as two people engaged in a sexual affair that is destined to lead to rather brutal consequences.  The film is regarded as being one of the sexist movies of all time because of the performance and portrayal by Kathleen Turner.  The film launched her career as a major movie star and sex symbol of the 1980s.  In fact, her portrayal was so steaming and sensual that it compelled Empire Magazine to name her one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history.  Her sex appeal would help her become one of the leading box office draws of the 1908s and early 1990s.

Indecent Proposal

Indecent Proposal is as sexy as it is controversial.  Starring the unlikely trio of Robert Redford, Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson, the film focuses on the theme of wife “selling” wherein a wealthy stranger (Redford) makes a “bid” on the wife of another man to spend one night with her in bed.  The film goes into all the complexities that arise in such a situation, though not without taking time to focus on the renowned sexual appeal of Redford and Moore.  Though the film was not a critical favorite, it remains a favorite with the crowd that likes their sexy complicated.

Dirty Dancing

Patrick Swayze again? Yes, again.  He may be gone but his legacy as one of Hollywood’s sexiest leading men endures with films like Ghost and Dirty Dancing.  Why is Dirty Dancing considered to be so sexy a film?  It’s not just the chemistry between Jennifer Grey and Swayze: it’s also the perfectly sexy way their bodies sway together as they dance together in number after number.  Who says you need to take your clothes off to be sexy?
