Indy on DVD—And Maybe a Fifth Film
In regards to the Indiana Jones franchise, Harrison
Ford told Total Film magazine not too long ago that “If Steven
Spielberg and George Lucas tried to replace me, first I’d
tell them to go f—k themselves. Then I’d kill them.” Now, are you going to tell
him he’s too old to play an action hero? Nope, and neither is George Lucas, who
while promoting his new animated Star Wars film Clone Wars, has put to rest speculation
that Shia LaBeouf could take over as a new Indy. If LaBeouf, who co-starred in
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, were to take over as the
lead in the series, it would no longer be called “Indiana Jones,” Lucas
promised. Sci Fi Wire reports that Lucas is currently researching a fifth
Indiana Jones movie, though he says “It’s very hard to come up with stories for
that thing.” Meanwhile, the DVD and Blu-Ray release of the latest film has just
been announced: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will street
October 14. Sounds like there will be a two-disc set with behind-the-scenes
features and the story of the film’s 14-year production history.—Movietimes.com
