Anne Francis (1930-2011)

As per the old joke, titillating an ocelot, is the beautiful Anne Francis, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer this morning. Never to be forgot by spy and science fiction fans, Francis had two particularly iconic roles: one as detective Honey West (above) and the other as the Miranda in one of the most effective versions of The Tempest, Forbidden Planet. A hard-working actress in television in the 1970s through the 1990s, Francis also appeared unbilled as a walk-on in Portrait of Jenny, and in the early Frank Tashlin film Susan Slept Here (now available through Warner Archive.
