Taylor Marie Dooley (born February 26, 1993) is an American teen actress. She is best known for her starring role as Lavagirl in the Robert Rodriguez's film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D. Dooley was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She is of Irish, English, German, and Sioux Native American descent on her father's side and of Belgian, German and English descent on her mother's side. She has a younger brother named Drew (b. 1994). Dooley was raised a Christian and grew up in Glendale, Arizona, where her family moved when she was six. Dooley, who was home schooled, admires actress Natalie Portman. Dooley is close friends with AnnaSophia Robb, to whom she once lost an audition for Drake and Josh.
