Stephen Dunne (born 13 January 1918 in Northampton, Massachusetts; died 2 September 1977 in Los Angeles, California) was an American actor. He was active on television and in films from 1945 to 1973 and was also credited as Steve Dunn, Michael Dunne, Stephan Dunne, and Steve Dunne. He also had roles on radio at several times, including as the voice of private eye Sam Spade in The Adventures of Sam Spade from 1950 to 1951. In the 1960-1961 season, he and Mark Roberts (1921–2006) played brothers playing private detectives in the syndicated television series The Brothers Brannagan. In addition, he played roles on screen, including Uncle Willis Reynolds in Junior Miss, Professor Stewart in The Return of October, Steve Carter in The Crime Doctor's Diary, Dr. Thomas Wilson in Professional Father, Dan Howell in 'The Millionaire, Tim Tyler in Batman, and newsreader Stanley Kael in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. His final role on screen was as a TV moderator in Superdad. He died on September 2, 1977, aged 59.
